Allu Entertainment Launches ‘Allu Cinemas’, One of the World’s Largest Dolby Cinema Experiences

Allu Entertainment has officially launched Allu Cinemas, a premium large-screen format theatre that brings world-class cinematic technology to Hyderabad. Located inside the 7-acre Allu Studios complex at Kokapet, the ultra-luxury multiplex features four premium screens and aims to become a landmark entertainment destination in the city.
With the launch of Hyderabad’s first Dolby Cinema, Allu Cinemas has created history. The theatre houses one of the largest Dolby Cinema screens in the world, setting a new benchmark for cinematic presentation and placing Hyderabad prominently on the global cinema map. Designed to deliver a spectacular movie-watching experience, the facility combines advanced technology, luxury, and superior comfort for audiences.
Speaking to the media during the launch, Allu Aravind shared the inspiration behind the project.
We worked for nearly two years to build Allu Cinemas. There are three main reasons behind this project. When I saw the luxury theatre built by UV Vamsi in Sullurupeta, where audiences travel from nearby towns just to watch films there, it inspired me to build something similar but bigger. Another incident was when a leading industrialist requested IMAX tickets for Mission Impossible 6 because his children insisted on watching it on a large screen. That made me realize that audiences today don’t just want to watch moviesthey want to experience them. People are ready to spend for that experience,” he said.
Aravind added that audiences today prefer multiplexes because traditional single-screen theatres cannot match the evolving expectations. “We wanted to create a cinema that offers an experience beyond multiplexes. Dolby technology transforms both visuals and sound, making films look and feel extraordinary. We approached Dolby in 2024, and with the support of Dolby Cinema India representative Raj and teams from the US, Germany, and India, we conducted nearly seventy Zoom meetings to perfect the project,” he revealed.
A Unique Dolby Cinematic Experience
The flagship Dolby Cinema auditorium has a seating capacity of 648 and features one of the world’s largest flat-format Dolby screens, measuring 75 feet wide, making it the largest Dolby Cinema screen in India.
The auditorium is equipped with a dual Dolby Vision 6P laser projection system, delivering extraordinary brightness, deeper blacks, and vibrant colors for a truly immersive visual experience. The theatre also features Dolby 3D technology, offering one of the most premium 3D cinematic experiences available globally.
For sound, the auditorium is powered by a 64-channel Dolby Atmos immersive audio system, supported by 78 speakers and 165 concealed sound outlets, allowing sound to move around the audienceincluding overheadfor a fully enveloping effect.
The theatre features curved stadium seating, ensuring perfect viewing angles from every seat, making the experience equally powerful regardless of where the audience sits.
Four Premium Screens Built Without Compromise
Apart from the flagship Dolby Cinema screen, the other three auditoriums feature Barco 4K laser projection systems and Dolby Atmos surround sound, along with premium Dolby-branded speakers and stadium seating.
All four screens offer recliners and lounge seating, with screens 2, 3, and 4 together providing 717 additional seats and next-generation 3D capabilities. Each auditorium has been designed with advanced technology to create a distinctive viewing experience.
A New Landmark at Allu Studios
Situated within the Allu Studios complex in Kokapet, Allu Cinemas marks another milestone for Hyderabad’s entertainment landscape. The location offers easy access for audiences from Financial District, Gachibowli, Kokapet, Narsingi, Nanakramguda, Mokila, and the upcoming Neopolis area.
The multiplex has been designed for families, corporate visitors, and premium cinema lovers, offering spacious ticketing areas, comfortable waiting lounges, and an expanded food and beverage selection. The F&B offerings include Italian, Chinese, and Indian cuisines, along with multiple concession counters and kiosks serving a wide range of snacks and beverages.
