UFO Cinema Solutions Launches India’s First 14-Metre Acoustic-Transparent 4K LED Cinema Screen in Kochi
Kochi, August 17, 2026: A new chapter in India’s cinema technology landscape began in Kochi with the launch of MAGNOVA, UFO Cinema Solutions’ premium large-format cinema technology. The new 14-metre Acoustic-Transparent Direct View 4K HDR LED screen has been installed at Magic Frames, Kakkanad.
The installation was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan on the occasion of Chingam 1. Several prominent names from Malayalam cinema, including Dileep, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kunchacko Boban, Tovino Thomas, Shane Nigam, Basil Joseph, Jayasurya and Manju Warrier, were present at the event.
The 14-metre-wide MAGNOVA screen measures 14m x 6m and features a DCI-compliant Direct View 4K HDR LED display with a 3.91mm pixel pitch. The screen is powered by HEYLED technology and has been specially calibrated for cinema viewing.
One of the biggest highlights of MAGNOVA is its acoustic-transparent design. The technology allows cinema speakers to be positioned behind the LED screen, making the sound appear to come directly from the visuals on screen. This creates a more natural and immersive viewing experience.
The auditorium also features Dolby Atmos immersive sound and Pulz Cinema Speakers, adding to the overall premium cinema experience.
For moviegoers, MAGNOVA promises brighter and sharper 4K HDR images, deeper contrast and an immersive sound experience on a massive screen. For exhibitors, it offers an opportunity to create a premium large-format auditorium and provide audiences with a theatre experience that goes beyond conventional viewing.
The Kochi installation is also the beginning of MAGNOVA’s planned expansion across India. UFO Cinema Solutions is currently in discussions with exhibitors in major cities as well as smaller markets to take the technology to more locations.
Speaking about the launch, Pradeep Shetty, Business Head – Cinema Solutions, UFO Cine Media Network, said that cinema has evolved from film to digital and is now moving towards direct-view LED technology. He added that MAGNOVA aims to give exhibitors a future-ready premium cinema format while giving audiences more reasons to return to theatres.
UFO Cinema Solutions is also developing MAGNOVA powered by CINITY, giving exhibitors different options to create premium cinema formats.
The company also showcased MAGNOVA technologies, including HEYLED displays and CINITY projectors, at Big Cine Expo 2026 in Chennai on August 18 and 19, where the products received a strong response from the cinema industry.
UFO Moviez CEO Pradeep Shetty expressed his gratitude for the encouraging response to MAGNOVA’s HEYLED and CINITY offerings. He said the company plans to expand the MAGNOVA experience across the country and bring advanced cinema technology to audiences in different parts of India.
With its Kochi launch, MAGNOVA marks a significant step towards the next generation of premium cinema experiences in India.
