Hey Balwanth Will Completely Entertain the Audience: Heroine Shivani Nagaram
The hit-making duo Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati, known for successful films like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambhai, and Eesha, are now set to entertain audiences with a full-length entertainer titled “Hey Balwanth” (earlier titled Hey Bhagavan). Produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner, the film is directed by Gopi Achara and presented by Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works. The movie features Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, senior actor Naresh, and anchor Sravanti in prominent roles and is slated for release on February 20.
Speaking to the media on Monday, heroine Shivani Nagaram shared interesting insights about the film and her career.
Talking about the film, Shivani said that “Hey Balwanth” is a light-hearted and highly entertaining movie compared to her previous intense film with Suhas. She mentioned that she thoroughly enjoyed playing her character, which blends innocence with comedy. She also added that along with humor, the emotional bond between father and son will strongly connect with the audience.
When asked if the film would mark her hat-trick success, Shivani expressed strong confidence, stating that the movie has come out very well and will surely impress audiences. She revealed that the characters played by Suhas, Sudarshan, and herself will generate a lot of laughter, while the comedy track of Naresh and Vennela Kishore will be a major highlight. She also hinted that the interval bang will be surprising and highly enjoyable.
Explaining why she chose the project, Shivani said she always selects scripts that she connects with the most. She noted that while her first film was intense and the second was comedy-driven, this film also leans heavily on entertainment, which instantly attracted her to both the story and her role.
Clarifying about the business element in the film, she said it belongs to Naresh’s family in the story and her character is not directly associated with it. She encouraged audiences to watch the film in theatres for a fun-filled experience.
Describing the overall vibe of the movie, Shivani called it a colorful entertainer packed with good music and engaging comedy. She emphasized that every character in the film has entertaining moments, especially the comedy portions involving Naresh and Vennela Kishore.
Shivani also revealed her musical background, sharing that she is trained in Kuchipudi and music and is a singer-turned-actor. She did a humming bit in Little Hearts and even sang a song in Aarambham. She said she would love to sing more if the right opportunities come.
Speaking about working with Suhas again, she praised him as a friendly, supportive co-actor and a brilliant performer, adding that their on-screen chemistry will be enjoyable for the audience.
On her family’s reaction to her film career, she said they have been extremely supportive and are happy with her progress and film choices.
Regarding the offers she is receiving after the success of Little Hearts, Shivani said she treats success as motivation but chooses films only based on the strength of the story and the importance of her role, rather than the combination.
She further shared that she did not initially plan to become a serious actor, but the recognition she has received and the good teams she has worked with have strengthened her commitment. She prefers doing meaningful films over quantity and said even a few good films are more valuable than doing many projects.
Addressing the idea of working with star heroes, she stated that for her, the story and role matter the most. Coming from a non-film background, she believes maintaining the trust and appreciation of the audience is her biggest priority.
Expressing happiness about opportunities for Telugu heroines, Shivani noted that the industry is now giving more space to Telugu girls and that small films are also achieving big success. She said she prefers being selective and choosing quality projects that leave a lasting impression.
Talking about her personal taste, she mentioned that she enjoys all genres but especially loves romantic comedies, as entertaining films help uplift the mood. She expressed her desire to explore different genres in the future.
On her upcoming projects, Shivani revealed that she is receiving offers from multiple languages due to her films releasing on OTT platforms, and currently, two Tamil and two Telugu films are in the discussion stage.
