 Padma Kasturirangan Highlights the Global Power of South Indian Stories at IndiaJoy 2025

The 8th edition of IndiaJoy 2025 turned into a grand celebration of creativity, technology, and storytelling. One of the biggest attractions was OTT Pulse 2025, a special event that brought together leading names from the OTT and entertainment world to talk about how regional stories are shaping India’s digital future.

During a session titled “South Stories, Global Strokes: The Future of Regional Originals,” Padma Kasturirangan, Head of South, India Originals at Amazon Prime Video, shared her inspiring thoughts on the rise of South Indian storytelling.

She said, “Great stories can come from anywhere and resonate everywhere. The incredible success of South Indian content proves that when stories are rooted in local culture and told authentically, they connect with people across languages and borders.”

Padma highlighted that creators from Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam industries are breaking boundaries and redefining what mainstream entertainment means in India. Under her leadership, Prime Video has introduced several acclaimed originals such as Suzhal: The Vortex, Inspector Rishi, Dhootha, and Poacher all known for their unique and powerful storytelling.
