Dr. Naresh VK: Busiest Year in 2025, Blockbuster Start with Sankranthiki Vastunnam   Veteran actor Dr. Naresh VK reflects on his thriving career as he celebrates his birthday on January 20. With nine films in production, including lead roles in Beauty and Sundarakanda, 2025 marks his busiest year. Following the massive success of Sankranthiki Vastunnam, Naresh shares insights on upcoming projects, social initiatives like the Cinema Museum, and dreams of writing Vijaya Nirmala’s biopic. A true stalwart of Telugu cinema, Naresh continues to captivate audiences on screens and beyond.
Celebrated actor Dr. Naresh VK, also known as Navarasa Raya, recently shared his thoughts on his career and upcoming projects during a special interaction marking his birthday on January 20. With the massive success of Sankranthiki Vastunnam, Naresh is optimistic about 2025, which he describes as the busiest and most fulfilling year of his journey in the industry. 
“For the past decade, every year in my career has felt like a celebration. I’ve been steadily growing as an actor and achieving back-to-back successes. From Baahubali to Pushpa 2 and now Sankranthiki Vastunnam, Telugu cinema has proudly raised its flag globally, and I’m grateful to play a part in this journey,” he said.  

Naresh’s performance as the Chief Minister in Sankranthiki Vastunnam, helmed by his favorite director Anil Ravipudi, has garnered widespread praise. “Hearing that the film crossed ₹300 crores under the production of Dil Raju was exhilarating. It’s a fantastic way to kick off the year, and I hope this success continues for everyone in the industry,” he added.  

Calling 2025 the busiest year of his career, Naresh revealed he is involved in nine projects currently in production. “Each film is unique, with two featuring me in lead roles. After last year’s success of Veeranjaneya Yatra on OTT, new opportunities have opened up, and I’m thrilled to explore diverse roles across theaters and streaming platforms,” he shared.  

Some of his upcoming projects include:  

- A hilarious entertainer with Sharwanand, directed by Ram Abbaraju.  

- Sundarakanda with Nara Rohith.  

- Saranga Pani Jatakam by Indraganti Mohana Krishna.  

- A film with Ravi Teja.  

- Beauty, where Naresh plays the lead, penned by Maruthi.  

“It’s exciting to see senior and young directors crafting special roles for me. Seven of these films are being directed by talented young filmmakers, and I feel blessed to contribute to their vision,” Naresh noted.  

Reflecting on his career, Naresh expressed gratitude for completing 52 successful years in the industry. “This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without discipline, honesty, and the unwavering support of my audience. I sincerely thank all the producers, writers, directors, and fans who stood by me through this journey.”  

Beyond cinema, Naresh is actively contributing to society with two major initiatives this year. “We’ve established a Cinema Museum and Library along with a Creative Space for young artists, named after Smt. Ghattamaneni Indira Devi. My wife, Pavitra, and I are treating this as a mission to create a lasting impact for future generations,” he revealed.  

Additionally, Naresh has set up a post-production studio and dubbing theater named after his mentor, Jandhyala. “Jandhyala garu was my guiding light. Without him, I wouldn’t have become the actor I am today. This studio is my tribute to him.”  

- A book dedicated to Jandhyala garu, authored with inputs from senior writer Sainath, will be launched on February 20 at Ravindra Bharathi.  

- The prestigious Vijay Krishna Award will be presented this year in the presence of fans.  

Naresh also shared his long-held aspirations: “I want to write a biopic on my mother, Vijaya Nirmala garu. If anyone can tell her story, it’s me. Additionally, sequels to iconic films like Bhale Bhale Magadivoy and Sreevariki Premalekha are ideas I’ve been exploring.”  

“Movies are my energy source and my purpose. I hope to be on sets until my last breath,” Naresh concluded passionately, expressing his love for the art form and his unrelenting dedication to cinema.
