Ponniyin Selvan, the magnum opus directed by veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is one of the most ambitious projects in Tamil cinema history. The first instalment of the historical drama, which was released in theatres in September 2022, became one of the Tamil film industry’s all-time highest-grossing films. 

Now the highly anticipated Ponniyin Selvan 2, the second instalment of historical drama franchise, is set to be released in theatres on April 28, 2023. With less than a month for release, the team is busy with the promotions for the film. In this background, the team attended the pre-release event of this movie which was held in Hyderabad on Sunday. In this program.

Dil Raju said, "Mani Ratnam garu's Geetanjali is my favourite film. I began my career in the film industry with his film, Amritha. We've released Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 in Telugu states under our banner and it was a big success. Under our banner, we are now releasing PS2 (Ponniyin Selvan Part 2). This is a film directed by Mani Ratnam garu and produced by Subaskaran. This multi-starrer film stars Vikram garu, Karthi garu, Jayam Ravi garu, Aishwarya Rai garu, Trisha garu, and many others. I send my best wishes to the entire team. A.R. Rahman composed the music for the PS2, which is currently creating sensation."

Macho hero Gopichand and director Sriwass’ third film together Rama Banam is expected to complete hat-trick hits in their combination, thanks to the huge buzz around the movie. The makers indeed have come up with the right strategies to promote the movie. The first two songs as well as the trailer got an immense response.

Today, actress Sreeleela who played the leading lady in People Media Factory’s previous blockbuster Dhamaka has launched the lyrical of the third single of Rama Banam. Mickey J Meyer neatly plays to his strong points with this track and uses a host of instruments to keep the listener hooked. Yet again, he works on using the rhythm to the maximum utility as there is no compromise on the beats even though it is a melodious number.

Srimani provided lyrics for the song that sees the protagonist heaping praises on the beauty of the girl whom he adores the most. Ritesh G Rao’s pleasant vocals add boundless value to the song. Visuals are also very enjoyable in the song in the backdrop of Kolkata. Gopichand and Dimple Hayathi looked lovely together. Dinesh Kumar’s choreography is just perfect for the song.

After making a remarkable debut with Rowdy Boys, young hero Ashish is coming up with a youthful mass entertainer Selfish directed by debutant Kasi Vishal and produced by Sukumar Writings, ace producer Dil Raju, and Shirish’s Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Ashish is playing a mass character and he was seen showing his reckless attitude in the previously released posters. Meet Chaitra who is a bit of a realist. Reserving Ivana to the world of Selfish. The girl who plays the leading lady opposite Avinash looks a bit tensed, as the latter stares at her from behind.

As the ID card suggests Ivana will be seen as a financial analyst. The actress looks simple yet adorable in the poster. Ashish can be seen with curly hair and a beard here. Though he plays a mass character, he looks modish in the poster.

Reserved for my love… reads the Google search space. As the map in the background indicates, the story of the movie is set in old city in Hyderabad. In fact, Ashish will be seen as a typical old city guy who is selfish. He wants life's sweetness but not life's sourness and bitterness.

Nitro Star Sudheer Babu will be seen in a triple role in his forthcoming venture Mama Mascheendra being directed by actor-filmmaker Harshavardhan and produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao on Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP. The character posters of Durga- an obese man, Parasuram- an old don, and DJ- a youngster who can jam anyone's heart with his rhythm.

Today, superstar Mahesh Babu launched the teaser of the film. The teaser is intended to introduce the three characters of Sudheer Babu and their characterizations. While Durga is dying to have a girlfriend in life, DJ avoids girls for his own reasons. Then, Parasuram is a deadly old don who wants to kill these two. The teaser is a freaky one and entertaining at the same time.

Sudheer Babu showed the difference between the three characters and he was exceptional. He was seen uttering dialogues in Telangana slang as a DJ. Mirnalini Ravi and Eesha Rebba looked glamorous. Harshavardhan has come up with a unique story and presented the characters strikingly.

PG Vinda’s cinematography is laudable, wherein Chaitan Bharadwaj’s background score elevates the fun quotient. Overall, the teaser creates inquisitiveness.

ఏజెంట్ జర్నీ ఎలా మొదలైయింది ?

నాకు లార్జర్ దేన్ లైఫ్, యాక్షన్ సినిమాలు అంటే చాలా ఇష్టం. 'మోస్ట్ ఎలిజిబుల్ బ్యాచిలర్' చేస్తున్నప్పుడు ఎక్కడో చిన్న వెలితి. ఆ సినిమా చాలా మంచి విజయం సాధించింది. నాకు యాక్సెప్టెన్స్ చాలా వరకు పెరిగింది. అయితే పర్సనల్ గా నాకు ఇష్టమైన జోనర్ యాక్షన్. లాక్ డౌన్ సమయంలో ఏం చేద్దామనే ఆలోచనలో ఉన్నప్పుడు.. దర్శకుడు సురేందర్ రెడ్డి గారిని కలవడం జరిగింది. అప్పటికి కథ ఇంకా తెలీదు. కానీ ఏదైనా కొత్తగా ఫ్రెష్ గా చేయాలని మాత్రం నిశ్చయించుకున్నాను. ఒక కొత్త తరహా యాక్షన్ సినిమా చేసి ఫ్రెష్ కంటెంట్ ని ఇవ్వాలనే ప్రయత్నంతో స్పై జోనర్ ని ఎంపిక చేసుకొని ఏజెంట్ జర్నీ మొదలైయింది.

మీ కుటుంబానికి ప్రేమకథలు బాగా నప్పుతాయి.. కానీ మీరు మాత్రం మాస్ యాక్షన్ సినిమాలని ఇష్టపడటానికి కారణం?

కారణం అంటే ఏం చెప్తాము. ఫలానా కలర్ ఎందుకు ఇష్టం అంటే ప్రత్యేకించి కారణాలు చెప్పలేం కదా. చిన్నప్పటి నుంచి యాక్షన్ సినిమాలే ఇష్టం. రాజమౌళి గారి సినిమాలు అంటే పిచ్చి.

బాల నటుడిగా సిసింద్రీ అనే యాక్షన్ సినిమా చేశారు కదా ?

అప్పుడు నాకు 16 నెలలు.. అసలు ఏం గుర్తులేదు(నవ్వుతూ). ఇప్పుడు కూడా కొందరు సిసింద్రీ అని పిలుస్తారు.  

నాన్నగారు యాక్షన్ సినిమాలు చేసినప్పటికీ ఆయన్ని మన్మధుడు అంటారు. మీ నాన్నాగారికి ఆ పేరుంది. మీరు ఏ పేరు తెచుకోవాలని అనుకుంటున్నారు?

ఇప్పటికి నా ఆలోచన దృక్పథం ఏమిటంటే.. అఖిల్ సినిమాకి థియేటర్ కి వస్తే ప్రేక్షకులకు ఎక్స్ట్రీమ్ ఎక్స్పీరియన్స్ ఇవ్వాలి. చాలా హార్డ్ వర్క్ చేసి, సినిమాకి ఏడాది రెండేళ్ళు పట్టినా.. ప్రేక్షులకు థియేటర్ లో గొప్ప అనుభూతి ఇచ్చే చిత్రాలు చేయాలని వుంది.  

బాడీని ఎనాలసిస్ చేయడానికి ఎవరైనా హాలీవుడ్ యాక్షన్ హీరోల పరిశీలించారా ?

హాలీవుడ్ వరకూ ఎందుకు ..ఇండియాలోనే హృతిక్ రోషన్ ఉన్నారు. కానీ బాడీ బిల్డింగ్ లో నేను రియలైజ్ అయినది ఏమిటంటే.. ప్రతి బాడీ జెనిటిక్ డిఫరెంట్. ఒకరిలా బిల్డ్ చేద్దామని అనుకుంటే కుదరదు. దర్శకుడు ఎలాంటి లుక్ ని కోరుకుంటున్నారో దానిపై ద్రుష్టి పెట్టాను. నాలుగు నెలల్లో నేను కోరుకుంటున్న బాడీ తీసుకురాగలని అనుకున్నాను. కానీ పది నెలలు పట్టింది. ‘బాడీలో చాలా మార్పు కావాలి.  ఎక్స్ట్రీమ్   ట్రాన్స్ ఫర్మేషన్ ఇవ్వాలి. గత సినిమాల లుక్ ని ప్రేక్షకులు మర్చిపోవాలి’’ఈ పాయింట్ ని దర్శకుడు బలంగా పట్టుకున్నారు. దానికి టైం పట్టింది.

ఏజెంట్ చేసినప్పుడు మీ ప్రిఫరెన్స్, లిమిటేషన్స్ ఏమిటి ?

ఏజెంట్ జోనర్ నాకు బాగా నచ్చేసింది. లిమిటేషన్స్ విషయానికి వస్తే.. ఇంత క్రేజీగా చేయగలుగుతానా లేదా అనేది డౌట్. ఎందుకంటే ఇంతకుముందు అలాంటింది చేయలేదు. ఈ పాత్ర కోతిలానే బిహేవ్ చేస్తుంది. ప్రతి క్షణం ఒక హైలో మాట్లాడాలి. అది నాకు చాలా కష్టం అనిపించింది. ఎందుకంటే.. వ్యక్తిగతంగా నేను కొంచెం సిగ్గరి. అయితే కొంత జర్నీ తర్వాత ఆ పాత్ర అలవాటైపోయింది.

ఇదివరకు కొన్ని యాక్షన్ స్పై సినిమాలు వచ్చాయి. ఏజెంట్ వాటికి ఎంత భిన్నంగా కొత్తగా వుంటుంది ?

ఏజెంట్ చాలా ప్రత్యేకమైన సినిమా. మమ్ముట్టి గారు లాంటి పెద్ద స్టార్ ని ఎందుకు ఇందులో తీసుకున్నామో విడుదల తర్వాత మీరే చెప్తారు. ఇది కేవలం ఒక్క హీరో వైపు నుంచే నడిచే సినిమా కాదు. మూడు పాత్రలు మధ్య ఇంటెన్స్ డ్రామా జరిగే సినిమా ఇది. మమ్ముట్టి గారి పాత్రతో నేను ప్రేమలో పడిపోయాను. అంత అద్భుతంగా వచ్చింది. కథ ఓ కొత్త ప్రపంచంలో జరుగుంటుంది. కంప్లీట్ గా న్యూ సెటప్. ఖచ్చితంగా ఏజెంట్ ఓ కొత్త అనుభూతిని ఇస్తుంది.

ఇందులో మీ పాత్ర గురించి చెప్పండి ?

ఇందులో నా పాత్ర పేరు రిక్కీ. తను చాలా వైల్డ్. ఎవరూ ఊహించని విధంగా డీల్ చేస్తాడు. ఏజెంట్.. వెరీ వైల్డ్.

ఏజెంట్   సీరియస్   టోన్ లో వెళుతుందా ? తెలుగు సినిమాలకి అలవాటైన ప్యాకేజ్ ఉంటుందా ?  

స్పై జోనర్ తీసుకున్నాం కాబట్టి కొంచెం సీరియస్ గా వెళిపోతుంది. అయితే మాస్ ఆడియన్స్ కి నచ్చేలా యంగేజింగ్ ఎంటర్ టైనింగా ఉండటానికి స్క్రిప్ట్ దశలో చాలా వర్క్ చేశాం. స్పై అనే వాడు నీడలో ఉంటూ అందరితో బ్లెండ్ అయిపోయి వుండాలి. కానీ ఏజెంట్ కంప్లీట్ రివర్స్. అన్ ప్రెడిక్ట్ వైల్డ్ మంకీలా ఉంటాడు. సెపరేట్ కామెడీ స్పై రన్ ని డిస్ట్రబ్ చేస్తుంది. అందుకే హ్యూమర్ ని కథానాయకుడి పాత్రలోనే ఉండేట్లు చూసుకున్నాం. అది చాలా ఆసక్తికరంగా వుంటుంది. సీరియస్ యాక్షన్ సీన్ లో కూడా తను హ్యుమర్ తీసుకొచ్చేస్తాడు. క్యారెక్టర్ వైల్డ్ నెస్ వలన అది వర్క్ అవుట్ అయ్యింది. సూరి గారి పాత్రలు మాములుగా క్రాక్ గా వుంటాయి. దాని వలన సినిమా ఎక్సయిటింగా అయిపోతుంది.  సూరి గారు ఈ పాత్రని చాలా ప్రేమించి చేశారు.  

ఏప్రిల్ 28న .. పోకిరి, బాహుబలి 2 .. ఇలా చాలా  ఇండస్ట్రీ హిట్లు వున్నాయి.. ఏజెంట్ కూడా అదే డేట్ కి రావడం ఎలా అనిపిస్తుంది ?

పోకిరి, బాహుబలి 2 నా ఆల్ టైం ఫేవరేట్ మూవీస్. వ్యక్తిగతంగా నాకు పెద్దగా సెంటిమెంట్లు వుండవు. కానీ ఇది చెప్పినపుడు చాలా ఆనందంగా ఫీలయ్యాను. పోకిరి 50 సార్లు చూసి ఉంటాను. బాహుబలి కూడా అంతే. ఇంకా చూస్తూనే వున్నాను. ఇదొక బ్లెస్సింగ్ లానే భావిస్తున్నాను.

సంగీత దర్శకుడు హిపాప్ తమిళా గురించి ?  

వాళ్ళది బ్రిలియంట్ టీం. ఏదో కొత్తగా ఇవ్వాలని తపన పడే కంపోజర్స్. ఆది, జీవా చాలా క్రేజీ మ్యూజిక్ ఇచ్చారు.

ప్రభాస్ గారు, రామ్ చరణ్ గారు ఏజెంట్ ప్రమోషన్స్ లో భాగమౌతారని తెలిసింది ?    

తెలిసింది. నేనే మాట్లాడలేదు ఎవరితో(నవ్వుతూ). ట్రైలర్ చూశారు. నచ్చిందని మెసేజ్ పెట్టారు. అంతకుమించి ఇంకేం జరగలేదు.

మమ్ముట్టి గారితో తెరపంచుకోవడం ఎలా అనిపించింది ? ఆయన ఇతర భాషల్లో ఎక్కువ గా చేయరు కదా ?

మమ్ముట్టి గారు మామూలు పాత్రలు ఒప్పుకోరు. ఆయనకి తగ్గట్టుగా ఉంటేనే చేస్తారు. ఏజెంట్ స్క్రిప్ట్ ఆయనకి నచ్చడం చాలా ఆనందాన్ని ఇచ్చింది. ఆయన సెట్ కి వచ్చిన తర్వాత పాత్ర మరో స్థాయికి వెళ్ళింది. ఆయన తప్పితే మరొకరి అందులో ఊహించకోలేను. ఇప్పటికీ ఆయన రిలాక్స్ అవ్వరు. చాలా సీరియస్ గా తీసుకుంటారు. ఆయన కూడా నన్ను ముందుకు నడిపారు.  ఆయనతో పని చేయడం చాలాఎంజాయ్ చేశాను.

ఏజెంట్ లో ఊర్వశి రౌతెలా ఓ పాట చేస్తుందని విన్నాం ?

అవును. చివర్లో షూట్ చేసిన పాట అదే. క్లైమాక్స్ లో వస్తుంది.

సాక్షి వైద్య నటన ఎలా వుంది ?  

సాక్షి అద్భుతంగా నటించింది. చాలా ప్రొఫెషనల్ గా చాలా మంచి ఎనర్జీతో చేసింది. చూడటానికి కూడా చాలా అందంగా వుంది. మొదటి రోజు షూట్ తర్వాత సూరి గారు ‘’అమ్మాయి ఇరగదీసేస్తుంది మీరు ఎక్కడా తగ్గకండి’’ అని చెప్పారు.

ఏజెంట్ స్క్రిప్ట్ నాన్న గారికి చెప్పినపుడు ఎలాంటి సలహాలు ఇచ్చారు ?

నిజం చెప్పాలంటే ఏజెంట్ స్క్రిప్ట్ నాన్న గారితో షేర్ చేయలేదు. నా జపయజయాలకు నేను తీసుకునే నిర్ణయాలే కారణం కావాలని భావిస్తాను. నాన్న గారి సలహాలు తీసుకుంటాను. ఆయనకి అన్ని విషయాలపై చాలా అవగాహన వుంటుంది. ఆయనకి చాలా ప్రశ్నలు అడుగుతాను. కానీ ఈ కథ చేయాలా వద్దా అనేది మాత్రం నా నిర్ణయం.

ఏజెంట్ ఆలస్యమవ్వడానికి కారణం ?

ఈ విషయంలో అందరికీ ఓ వివరణ ఇవ్వాలి. ఏజెంట్ సినిమాని చాలా త్వరగా అనౌన్స్ చేసేశాం. స్క్రిప్ట్ చేయడానికి మాకు ఏడాది పట్టింది. తర్వాత మా దర్శకుడు సురేందర్ రెడ్డి గారికి అనారోగ్యం చేసింది. దాదాపు మూడు నెలలు ఆయన నడవలేకపోయారు. 120 రోజుల వర్కింగ్ డేస్ వున్న ఇలాంటి భారీ స్కేల్ సినిమాకి 15 నెలలు సహజంగానే పడుతుంది. అయితే ముందుగానే అనౌన్స్ చేసేయడం వలన మూడేళ్ళు పట్టిందనే భావన కలిగింది.

అనిల్ సుంకర నిర్మాణంలో చేయడం ఎలా అనిపించింది ?

అనిల్ గారు చాలా ప్యాషనేట్, డేరింగ్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్. చాలా సపోర్ట్. అలాంటి నిర్మాతలు చాలా అరుదుగా ఉంటారు. తప్పకుండా ఆయనతో మరో సినిమా చేస్తాను.

Young and dynamic hero Akhil Akkineni and stylish maker Surender Reddy’s spy action thriller Agent theatrical trailer received a thumping response, thanks to the wild action and stylish making. Director Surender Reddy presented Akhil’s character in a stylish best avatar and the actor performed some deadly stunts. Produced by Anil Sunkara on AK Entertainments banner, the trailer looked grand all through, thanks to the high budget spent on it.
