Toxic Creates History with Record Overseas Deal for Indian Language Versions
Much before hitting theatres, Toxic is already making history. The film has set new benchmarks in pre-release business, proving its massive buzz across markets.
Earlier, Toxic became the first non-Telugu film to secure a sensational ₹120 crore distribution deal in the Andhra Pradesh–Telangana market with Sri Venkateswara Creations. This landmark agreement sent strong signals across the Indian film industry about the film’s extraordinary potential.
Now, the film has reached an even bigger milestone overseas. Toxic has been acquired by Phars Film, one of the most powerful overseas distributors, in what is being described as one of the highest overseas deals ever for an Indian film. The agreement reportedly includes a massive ₹105 crore advance on a commission basis, reflecting the tremendous global confidence in the project.
This overseas deal applies only to the Indian-language versions of Toxic Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. The English version is not part of this agreement, further highlighting the strong international demand for Indian-language cinema driven by the film’s scale and star power.
The overwhelming trust in Toxic comes on the back of Rocking Star Yash’s earlier global phenomenon KGF: Chapter 2, which shattered records worldwide and emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in the GCC region. That success has laid a solid foundation for Toxic to aim even higher.
The makers are now planning what could be the widest overseas release ever for an Indian film, with screenings scheduled across almost every international territory, excluding Nepal, Japan, and China. This bold strategy positions Toxic as a truly global cinematic event.
Speaking about the deal, Phars Film CEO and Founder Ahmad Golchin said that Toxic carries emotions and themes that can connect across cultures, and the team is excited to present the film to audiences worldwide.
Venkat K. Narayana of KVN Productions added that Toxic was conceived as a universal cinematic experience and needed a global partner with strong reach and credibility. He expressed confidence that Phars Film’s expertise will ensure a powerful worldwide launch and set new global benchmarks for Indian cinema.
With a record-breaking Telugu market deal, a massive overseas acquisition, and the legacy of KGF 2 behind it, Toxic is fast emerging as a worldwide phenomenon even before its release. Mounted on a grand international scale, the film promises stunning visuals, high-end action, cutting-edge VFX, and a rich storytelling world, hinting at its potential to become a ₹1000 crore blockbuster.
Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in multiple Indian and international languages.
The film features an exceptional technical team, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid. The action is choreographed on a massive scale by Hollywood action director JJ Perry, along with acclaimed action directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 19 March 2026, aligning with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa making it one of the most anticipated global releases in Indian cinema.
