Nawab Cafe to Hit Screens on February 20
Hero Shiva Kandukuri says the film is made with honesty and will emotionally connect with audiences
The upcoming Telugu film “Nawab Cafe” is all set for a theatrical release on February 20. The film stars Shiva Kandukuri, Rajeev Kanakala, and Teju Ashwini in lead roles. It is produced by Radha V Papudippu under the Harshika Productions banner and directed by Pramod Harsha. Ahead of the release, the team held a grand press meet and interacted with the media.
Speaking at the event, Shiva Kandukuri shared that the film initially began with the title “Chai Wala”. However, due to censor-related guidelines, the team decided to change the title to “Nawab Cafe”. He revealed that director Pramod Harsha had always liked the title Nawab Cafe and had even saved his contact under that name in his phone.
Shiva said the new title perfectly reflects the essence and emotion of the film. He appreciated the producer’s strong support throughout the title change and promotion process. He added that the film has been made with sincerity and truth, and he is confident it will touch the hearts of audiences. He mentioned that after watching the film, viewers would feel an urge to call their fathers and share their emotions.
Producer Venkat explained that while no one directly instructed them to change the title, discussions with the censor board in Mumbai made it clear that “Chai Wala” could not be used. After considering several options, the team unanimously finalized “Nawab Cafe” and expressed hope that the audience and media would support the new title.
Director Pramod Harsha said the story is inspired by real-life incidents he has witnessed. He stated that the title change was done respectfully, following censor guidelines, and requested the media to help take the film to the audience.
Heroine Teju Ashwini, making her debut with this film, said that content matters more than the title. She expressed confidence that if the film is good and entertaining, the audience will surely support it. She thanked the team and hoped the audience would bless the film.
