Actor Santosh Soban says his upcoming film Couple Friendly will take audiences on an engaging emotional journey, especially through the relationship of Shiva and Mithra. The film stars Manasa Varanasi as the female lead and is set to release on February 14, coinciding with Valentine’s Day.
Couple Friendly is a musical romantic love story being made in Telugu and Tamil. The film is produced by UV Concepts and presented by UV Creations, with Ajay Kumar Raju P. as co-producer. It is written and directed by Ashwin Chandrasekhar. The pre-release press meet was held in Hyderabad on Monday.
Producer and distributor Dheeraj Mogilineni clarified the confusion around the film’s certification. He explained that the censor board suggested changing the title, but since all promotions were already completed, the team decided to continue with the same name. As a result, the Telugu version received an A certificate, while the Tamil version got a UA certificate. He dismissed rumours about adult content, stating that the film is a clean love story and can be enjoyed by families. He expressed strong confidence that the film would be a major turning point in Santosh Soban’s career and praised Manasa Varanasi for her committed performance. He also revealed that premieres are planned in multiple cities, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Vizag, Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Nellore, with shows beginning from the evening of February 13.
Manasa Varanasi shared that the trailer received very encouraging feedback. She said the script was originally written in Tamil, and the team worked carefully to adapt the Telugu dialogues while maintaining rhythm and emotion. She highlighted the strong teamwork behind the film and praised Santosh Soban’s dedication. She thanked Dheeraj Mogilineni for bringing fresh energy to the project and requested audiences to watch the film in theatres.
Santosh Soban said the response during promotions has been overwhelming and emotionally uplifting. He mentioned that the title initially surprised him too, but audiences will understand its meaning once they watch the film. He explained that the story focuses on how Shiva’s life changes after meeting Mithra and how far he is willing to go for love. He added that the core emotion of the film has been intentionally kept under wraps to be experienced on the big screen. Santosh also expressed gratitude to Prabhas for sharing the trailer on social media, calling it a gesture of genuine support.
