JioHotstar marked a major milestone for South Indian media and entertainment with the announcement of a massive ₹4,000 crore investment dedicated to building a stronger, more diverse creative ecosystem in the region. The announcement was made at a grand event in Chennai, attended by the Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister for Tamil Development & Information M.P. Saminathan, Member of Parliament Padma Bhushan Kamal Haasan, and top stars and creators from across South India.

Partnership with Tamil Nadu Government

JioHotstar announced the signing of a Letter of Intent with the Tamil Nadu Government.
