‘Appa’ Sets the Emotional Tone for Mohanlal’s Vrusshabha
The makers of Mohanlal’s upcoming film Vrusshabha have unveiled the first song, “Appa”, marking a heartfelt beginning to the film’s musical journey. The song beautifully captures the deep and timeless bond between a father and son, which forms the emotional core of the film.
Composed by Sam CS, “Appa” features soulful vocals by Vijai Prakash in Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu, while Madhu Balakrishnan lends his voice to the Malayalam version. The lyrics are written by Vinayak Shashikumar (Malayalam), Kalyan Chakravarthy Tripuraneni (Telugu), Kartik Kush (Hindi), and Nagarjun Sharma (Kannada), each bringing a local flavour while preserving the same emotional depth. The film’s music is released under the T-Series label.
Sharing his thoughts, director Nanda Kishore said that starting the film’s promotions with “Appa” felt natural, as Vrusshabha is deeply rooted in the father–son relationship. He added that the song reflects the soul of the story and gives audiences a clear sense of what the film stands for.
Music director Sam CS described “Appa” as a deeply personal experience. He shared that the emotion connected instantly when the story was narrated to him, and having Mohanlal at the centre of the song added great responsibility. He hopes listeners feel the warmth and honesty of the bond when they hear the track.
Vrusshabha stars Mohanlal, Samarjit Lankesh, Ragini Dwivedi, Nayan Sarika, Ajay, Neha Saxena, Garuda Ram, Vinay Verma, Ali, Ayyappa P. Sharma, and Kishore.
