After winning hearts with her role in Ambajipeta Marriage Band, young actress Shivani Nagaram is all set to shine again as the lead in the upcoming film Little Hearts. Starring alongside Mouli Tanuj of 90s Middle Class Biopic fame, the movie promises a nostalgic and lighthearted trip back to college days. Directed by Sai Marthand under the ETV Win Originals banner and produced by Aditya Hasan, Little Hearts is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on September 5, backed by producers Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati.
Shivani reveals that the film came her way through childhood friend and music director Sinjith Yerramalli. “When Sai Marthand narrated the story, I was instantly hooked,” she shares. “I loved how well each character was crafted it felt authentic and exciting.”
Being selective with her projects since Ambajipeta Marriage Band, Shivani emphasized the importance of strong content. “I waited for a script that would connect with audiences and be worth watching on the big screen,” she explains.
Describing the difference between her films, she notes, “Ambajipeta Marriage Band had a love story with emotional depth, but Little Hearts is a breezy, fun film filled with college memories and light romance—no heavy emotions.” Playing Katyayani, Shivani says the role felt natural and deeply relatable. “Her friendship and love story with Akhil will remind viewers of their own youthful days.”
Sharing personal connections, Shivani admits, “This film brought back memories of my school and college days. Having gone to all-girls schools, I never got to interact much with boys, so acting in this college setting was a fresh experience. It felt like being on a summer camp.”
The camaraderie on set was special too. “Shooting was a blast because our cast was close in age and bonded like real friends. Senior actors like Rajeev Kanakala, Anita Chowdary, Kanchi, and Satyakrishna supported us throughout,” she says warmly.
Music is another highlight for Shivani, who loves the Rajagaadi song and enjoyed performing the hook step with Mouli.
Despite a one-year gap after her last film, Shivani remains focused on quality over quantity. “Many new heroines have come up meanwhile, but I don’t compare. I choose roles that I believe in, whether for theatres or OTT platforms,” she notes. She is open to web series and excited about upcoming projects like the comedy entertainer Hey Bhagavan with Suhas.
Reflecting on her growth, Shivani expresses joy in exploring lighter, more entertaining roles after emotional performances in her debut. “I’m looking forward to more romantic comedies that make audiences smile,” she adds.
With its nostalgic vibe, relatable characters, and youth-focused humor, Little Hearts aims to strike a chord with anyone who cherishes their carefree college days. Shivani Nagaram’s charming portrayal of Katyayani is set to make the film a memorable ride down memory lane for moviegoers on September 5.
