In a promising move for young moviegoers and families, distributors Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati are presenting the theatrical release of the film Little Hearts. The film, directed by Sai Marthand under the ETV Win Original Productions banner, stars Mouli Tanuj, known for the 90s Middle-Class Biopic, and Shivani Nagaram from Ambajipeta Marriage Band. The film is set for a grand theatrical release on September 5.
Speaking at a recent interview, Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati shared their excitement about the film's potential and its unique appeal.
According to Bunny Vas, his interest in the film was sparked by Vamsi's initial praise, and he was completely won over after watching the final cut. "The content is strong, and we immediately decided to go for a theatrical release," he said. He believes that while the film may have a slow start due to the cast of new faces, positive word-of-mouth will lead to a significant increase in collections from the matinee shows onward.
Vamsi Nandipati echoed this sentiment, stating that he and Bunny Vas knew right away that Little Hearts was perfect for the big screen. "While watching it, we strongly felt this was theatrical material and would blast in theatres," he said.
Little Hearts is being touted as a youthful entertainer without any vulgarity, making it a film that families can enjoy together. It tells the story of Akhil, played by Mouli, a character who stays cheerful even through tough situations. The film is less about family drama and more about the fun, struggles, and love that bloom during the inter-college and EAMCET exam phase. Bunny Vas noted that the film is particularly aimed at the 16–20 age group and believes the song “Kathyaayani Nannu Love Cheyi” will be a hit with meme culture.
He believes the film’s timing is perfect. "The advantage now is that in the coming weeks, there aren’t many youth-oriented fun films, so this will stand out," he explained.
Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati are confident in the film's ability to succeed despite a crowded release schedule. They chose the September 5 release date to avoid competition from bigger films releasing later in the month.
Vamsi Nandipati also announced that they are holding special shows for students in Hyderabad, Vizag, and Vijayawada on September 3, followed by paid premieres on September 4. The film will be released in around 170 theaters.
Both distributors believe in the power of strong content, and they are committed to a theatrical-first approach. They acknowledged that while OTT platforms have changed the industry, a strong theatrical run is still essential for a film's overall success.
