Solo Boy Will Strike a Chord with Audiences” Producer Seven Hills Satish
Under the banner of Seven Hills Productions, Solo Boy is gearing up for its theatrical release on July 4. The film stars Bigg Boss fame Gautham Krishna alongside Ramya Pasupuleti and Shwetha Avasthi. Directed by P. Naveen Kumar and produced by Satish, this coming-of-age drama has Thrilok Siddu behind the lens and Praveen Pudi in the editing chair building plenty of buzz as the release nears.
Ahead of the premiere, producer Satish sat down with the media for an insightful chat.
How did Solo Boy come to life?
Gautham Krishna, a close friend, approached me with this concept. The story follows a middle-class boy’s journey from 17, navigating life’s hardships until he finds his footing. It felt authentic and relatable something that had to be told.
What precautions were taken during production?
We were extremely mindful of our budget, avoiding unnecessary expenses. Our young, passionate team worked for modest pay but gave their all. I plan to share profits with them after the release.
Your thoughts on the current cinema landscape?
After my experimental success Battala Ramakrishna, I learned valuable lessons. Today, big-star films take over screens even before release, and single-screen theatres are still struggling to find balance.
What’s the runtime and release scale?
The film runs 2 hours 10 minutes and is certified U/A. We’re targeting a release in 120150 theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
How valuable is Gautham Krishna’s Bigg Boss fame?
It’s a massive asset. He’s poured his heart into promotions. Having appeared in two Bigg Boss seasons, his popularity greatly boosts our reach.
What response are you hoping for from audiences?
I approached this project with honesty and clarity within a limited budget. I believe viewers will resonate with the story and lend their support.
Did you tweak the script after Gautham’s Bigg Boss stint?
Most of the film was shot before his Bigg Boss journey. Only a few scenes were pending, which we refined to align with his evolving image.
What has the industry taught you as a producer?
Ups and downs are inevitable. But with the right team and genuine intent, good cinema will always find its audience.
You started as a director, took a break, and returned as a producer. What prompted the shift?
I began as an assistant director but moved into real estate to secure financial stability. That allowed me to return to cinema with the resources to produce my own film.
Do you have strong industry connections?
Yes, I’m friends with directors like Venky Atluri, Sagar Chandra, Sampath Nandi, and Balagam Venu. I’ve worked alongside Nandini Reddy, Machha Ravi, and even assisted Natural Star Nani.
Did you contribute creatively to the script?
Absolutely. I was involved in shaping the story. I’m also developing a new script and, if things align, plan to direct it myself.
Was the film completed within budget?
Surprisingly, yes! We even wrapped up under our initial budget estimates.
What’s your take on reviews?
Strong content speaks for itself. I welcome reviews but request support during the first three days to build momentum.
Why did you choose to launch the trailer with martyr Murali Naik’s family?
It was Gautham’s idea. Rather than a routine celebrity event, we wanted to honor a true hero. We invited Murali Naik’s family, launched the trailer through them, and donated ₹1 lakh as a gesture of respect. It was an emotional and meaningful moment.
Why are you so selective about the films you produce?
Cinema reaches lakhs of people it must meet their expectations. Selecting the right story requires utmost care. For me, cinema isn’t just passion; it’s an obsession.
Describe Solo Boy in one line.
A heartfelt story for anyone who’s struggled to stand tall a tale of ambition, grit, and the fight for survival.
How do you maintain a strong bond with your team?
I treat every technician and actor like family. That personal touch keeps the energy and morale high we work together like brothers.
What’s your next venture?
I’m teaming up with Narne Nithin for an upcoming thriller. The script is finalized, and we’re excited to get started.
