Sets new records in viewership, digital engagement, and match-time minutes across TV and digital platforms

JioStar, the official broadcaster and digital streaming partner for TATA IPL 2025, has created history by taking the tournament to an astounding 1 billion viewers across TV and digital. The 18th edition of the league not only became the most-watched IPL season ever, but also set new benchmarks in total watch-time, viewer engagement, and technological innovation.

The tournament clocked a record 840 billion minutes of total watch-time – the highest in IPL history. The grand finale between RCB and PBKS emerged as the most-watched T20 match of all time, marking a major milestone in global cricket broadcasting.

Record-Breaking Viewership Across Platforms:

 JioHotstar, the digital home of IPL, saw an incredible 23.1 billion views and 384.6 billion minutes of watch-time – a 29% increase from last year.

 Connected TV (CTV) viewership grew 49%, highlighting a major shift towards large-screen digital viewing.

 On TV, Star Sports delivered 456 billion minutes of watch-time and achieved the highest average TV ratings (TVR) across multiple demographics.

The final match drew 31.7 billion minutes of combined watch-time on Star Sports and JioHotstar.

 On TV, it reached 169 million viewers with 15 billion minutes of watch-time.

 On digital, the match hit 892 million video views, 55 million peak concurrency, and 16.74 billion minutes of watch-time – all records for a T20 match.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their first IPL title.

 Virat Kohli finally lifted the trophy after years of pursuit.

 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history as the youngest centurion in IPL.

The season was packed with innovations on the JioStar platforms. From MaxView 2.0 for mobile users with swipe navigation to 12-language support, FAST channels for fan groups, voice-based video search, and personalized viewing experiences – the league truly became more immersive and inclusive.

 Features like 4K + Dolby Atmos, VR 360 Live, Indian Sign Language, Live Audio Descriptive, and Multi-Cam feeds enhanced the fan experience.

 Popular games like Jeeto Dhan Dhana Dhan boosted fan interaction.
