One of Telugu cinema’s most iconic hits, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, is making a grand comeback to theatres on May 9, marking its 35th anniversary. Starring Megastar Chiranjeevi and the legendary Sridevi, this timeless fantasy drama is now set to mesmerize audiences once again  this time in both 2D and 3D formats.

Directed by the visionary K. Raghavendra Rao and produced by Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, the film remains a milestone in Telugu film history. The movie also features an ensemble cast including Amrish Puri, Allu Ramalingaiah, Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, and child actors Baby Shalini and Baby Shamlee.

The journey to bring this classic back to life was anything but easy. The original film reels had been missing for years, and when found, were in terrible condition  damaged, dusty, and discolored. After a long and determined search across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, a print was finally discovered in Vijayawada in 2021. Despite its poor state, it became the foundation for the restoration.

With the help of Prasad Corporation and Prime Focus, the film was painstakingly repaired, frame by frame, and scanned at 8K resolution before being converted to 4K. In a first for Indian cinema, the team took the bold step of converting the movie into a 3D version as well.

Now, after years of hard work and dedication, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari is ready to shine once more on the big screen  brighter, sharper, and more magical than ever before.
