"Sodara Allowed Me to Be Myself Onscreen," Says Actress Arati Gupta


Sampoornesh Babu and Sanjosh are teaming up for the upcoming film Sodara, a heartfelt story celebrating the bond between brothers. Directed by Man Mohan Menam Palli and produced by Chandra Chaganla under the Can Entertainments banner, Sodara is gearing up for release on the 25th of this month. Ahead of the release, leading lady Arati Gupta sat down with the media to share her thoughts and experiences.

A Little About Her Journey  

"I was born and brought up in Chandigarh but later moved to Mumbai," Arati shared. "I've been part of a few Bollywood projects, but Sodara marks my debut in Telugu cinema."

What Drew Her to the Film  

"It was the story that captured my heart," she said. "It’s a sweet, light-hearted family entertainer the kind of film you enjoy watching with your loved ones. Plus, I really connected with my character, a simple, educated village girl who carries herself with grace and dignity."

On Working with Sampoo and Sanjosh  

"Both of them are absolutely wonderful very friendly and full of life. Their energy made the set atmosphere very lively," she smiled.

9pHer Efforts to Learn Telugu  

Arati is already making efforts to blend into Tollywood culture. "At the trailer launch, producer SKN’s speech really inspired me. Telugu is such a beautiful language, and if I want to truly settle here, I must learn it. That’s the only way I’ll feel completely at home," she explained.

First Impressions of Hyderabad  

"Hyderabad has a certain positive vibe. It’s calm yet energizing," she said. "I feel a strong sense of hope and excitement about working here more."

Praising Director Man Mohan Menam Palli  

"Mohan Garu is extremely supportive. He trusted me with a role that had real scope for performance, and because of his encouragement, I was able to give my best," she acknowledged.

On Sampoornesh Babu’s Legacy  

"I already knew about Sampoo’s unique style and fan following. I even watched Martin Luther King and appreciated his distinctiveness as an actor," she revealed.

Relating to Her Character  

Playing a traditional role wasn’t a big leap for Arati. "In real life too, I’m quite simple and grounded. The character felt very natural to me because it mirrors who I am off-screen," she said.

Her Choice of Roles and Inspirations  

"I’m open to exploring all kinds of genres," Arati mentioned. "But if I had to choose, I would definitely prioritize performance-driven roles over purely glamorous ones. Good acting automatically makes you look beautiful."

She also shared her admiration for Bollywood star Alia Bhatt. "I’m inspired by the variety of characters she has portrayed and how she’s carved her own path," Arati said.

Her Favorite in Tollywood  

Without hesitation, she named Allu Arjun. "I really enjoy his movies. He’s such a versatile performer," she smiled.

What She Loves About Telugu Industry  

Arati is impressed by the working culture in Tollywood. "The professionalism and discipline here are admirable. Everyone on set, big or small, is treated with respect," she said. "There’s still a lot I need to learn about Telugu cinema, and I’m excited for the journey ahead."
