Deva Katta Presents ‘Jo Jo’: A Quirky Rural Romantic Comedy
Renowned filmmaker Deva Katta is presenting ‘Jo Jo’, a completely different kind of film from his usual serious and intense cinema. Written and directed by Kiran Jay Kumar, the film is a raw and rustic romantic comedy set in the diamond fields of Jonnagiri.
The story follows two struggling young men and a bold young woman who dream of changing their lives by finding a precious diamond. What begins as a simple hunt for fortune soon turns into a series of funny and unexpected situations involving love, greed, betrayal and danger.
The title announcement poster gives a glimpse of the film’s earthy and rural world. The makers have also added a humorous warning “హెచ్చరిక: మనోభావాల బ్యాచ్ దూరంగా ఉండండి!” suggesting that the film will come with an unfiltered and unconventional sense of humour.
Krishna Kamal and Maahi Sri play the lead roles as Seenu and Supraja. The cast also includes Phanindra Devarapalli, Prabhavathi, Mahaboob Basha, Satish Devatte Tanjore, Puduru Sharath Babu and Makarand Deshpande.
The film is produced by Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni under the Vijayam banner. Kiran Jay Kumar has written the story, screenplay and dialogues apart from directing the film. Rohith Kumar is the cinematographer, Mahesh Shankar is composing the music and Madhav Kumar Gullapalli is handling the editing.
Interestingly, Deva Katta, Kiran Jay Kumar and Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni have previously worked together on ‘Mayasabha: Rise of the Titans’. While that project explored political drama, ‘Jo Jo’ takes the team in a completely new direction with rural comedy, romance and a unique diamond-hunt backdrop.
With its unusual setting, quirky characters and entertaining treasure-hunt story, ‘Jo Jo’ promises to be a refreshing romantic comedy with a distinctly rustic flavour. More details about the film and its release will be announced soon.
