‘Ameer Log’ Will Connect With Everyone: Vedha Jalandhar

Actress Vedha Jalandhar: “Every Character in Ameer Log Has Its Own Importance”

‘Ameer Log’ is the first production venture of Madhavi Reddy Soma under Awwal Number Productions. Directed by Ramana Reddy Soma, the film is co-produced by Manohar Reddy Manchuri. MC Hari, Manoj and Sashidhar play the lead roles, while Vedha Jalandhar, Ravan Nitturu, Vishwender Reddy and Sai Yogi appear in important roles. Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media is releasing the film in Telugu on August 21.

As part of the promotions, actress Vedha Jalandhar spoke about her journey, her role and her experience working on the film.

Tell us about your acting journey.

I started my career in 2019. Two of my films were screened at international film festivals, but unfortunately, they were not released. Later, I trained in theatre to improve my acting skills. It has been a great learning experience, and I have enjoyed every part of my journey.

What is your role in ‘Ameer Log’?

My character is a simple girl-next-door type of person who can inspire others. I have always looked up to my mother, and some of her qualities are reflected in my character. She taught me to be honest, straightforward and confident about expressing my thoughts. My character also has a similar nature.

How did you get the opportunity?

Bashir Master informed me about the auditions. Director Ramana Reddy garu had not seen my earlier work in ‘Thimmarajupalli TV’. I attended the audition, performed, and he immediately selected me.

What kind of response have you received?

People who watched the film have especially remembered my character and appreciated my performance. Even though I have done only a few films, it feels great that audiences remember me. I want to choose roles that have substance, so I am being careful about the films I take up.

Is biryani really important in the film?

Yes, biryani has a significant role in the story. It has been naturally connected to the narrative and is one of the interesting elements of the film. I believe audiences will enjoy it.

How was the experience of working with sync sound?

I had worked on a film with sync sound before, so I knew how challenging it can be. Even small sounds from the surroundings can get recorded. But everyone on the sets cooperated very well. The people living in the basti also supported us throughout the shoot. Since it was also the area where Ramana garu’s mother-in-law lives, we received a lot of support from the locals.

Are you disappointed that only a few of your films have been released?

For me, the number of releases is not the most important thing. What matters is how audiences receive our work and what kind of characters we choose. When I look back at my six-year journey, I feel happy with the roles I have done. The release of a film is not always in an actor’s hands.

How important is the music in the film?

Smaran garu has given excellent music. His background score adds a lot of strength to the film. There are emotions that visuals alone cannot completely convey, and the music helps bring those feelings to the audience. His work is an important part of ‘Ameer Log’.

Tell us about the lead characters.

Every character in ‘Ameer Log’ has its own importance. I believe audiences will connect with all of them. Working with Hari, Manoj and Sasi was a wonderful experience. We had a lot of fun together during the shoot.

How was your experience with the technical team?

Ramana Reddy garu took great care of the entire team. He clearly explained what he wanted from every scene, and we even did demo shoots before filming. We shot in the area where Madhavi Reddy garu grew up, and the local people treated us very well. Our DOP may not speak much, but his work speaks for itself.

What did the Spirit Media team and other celebrities say after watching the film?

The Spirit Media team appreciated the film after watching it. VN Aditya garu, who attended the premiere, also praised the movie. He particularly liked my character and said it was different from routine roles and had a strong connection with the audience. He also appreciated the way our performances supported Ramana garu’s writing.

Will the dialect be difficult for audiences from other regions?

I don't think the dialect will be a problem. Emotions are universal, and audiences can understand them regardless of the region. I am confident that ‘Ameer Log’ will connect with people from different backgrounds and places.
