Ahead of its theatrical release on May 15, the team of Dooradarshini held a lively pre-release event in Hyderabad with actor Priyadarshi Pulikonda and director Sai Kompati attending as chief guests.
Starring Suvikshit and Geethika Ratan, Dooradarshini is a feel-good romantic drama inspired by real-life events. Directed by Karthikeya Kommi and produced by M. Jayashankar Reddy and Patimeedi Santosh under Varaha Movie Makers, the film carries the tagline “Kalipindi Iddarini.”
Speaking at the event, Sai Kompati said the title instantly brings back memories for people who grew up in the 90s and expressed confidence that the film would connect with audiences of all age groups.
Priyadarshi shared that he always enjoys encouraging small and heartfelt films. He said the trailer reminded him of his childhood days when Doordarshan was a major part of every household. Recalling how watching films on television inspired him to become an actor, he wished for Dooradarshini to create the same emotional connection with today’s audience and become a memorable success.
Actor Gemini Suresh said the film gave him a chance to explore a new side of himself as a performer. He added that every character in the movie feels natural and relatable, making the story emotionally engaging.
Director Karthikeya Kommi said people may initially look at the film as a small project, but the emotions and performances will leave a strong impact once they watch it. He particularly praised the lead pair for delivering sincere performances.
Hero Suvikshit described Dooradarshini as a clean family entertainer rooted in village emotions and nostalgia. He said the film would make audiences feel connected to their own hometowns and childhood memories while offering a heartfelt theatrical experience.
The event was also attended by Geethika Ratan, Gemini Suresh, Kittayya, Teja, Balaraju, Chalapathi Raju, Chittoor Kurradu Sunil, Murali Mohan, Doordarshan news reader Vijayalakshmi, Sai Maganti, and other members of the team.
