‘Memu Coplam’ Trailer Promises Rural Madness

ZEE5 Brings Rural Chaos, Mystery & Comedy Together With ‘Memu Coplam’

ZEE5’s upcoming Telugu Original series Memu Coplam is gearing up to deliver a wildly entertaining blend of comedy, mystery, and rustic drama. The recently released trailer introduces viewers to a quirky village world where a missing rooster sparks absolute mayhem. The series is all set to premiere exclusively on May 22 on ZEE5.

Set in a lively rural backdrop where cockfighting is treated as a matter of prestige and power, the story kicks off when a highly valued rooster mysteriously disappears. What seems like a small village issue quickly snowballs into complete chaos. Assigned to solve the case are Ravi and Mohan Sotari — two hilariously incompetent cops who stumble their way through an investigation filled with confusion, panic, and unexpected twists.

As the duo digs deeper, the missing rooster case slowly uncovers shocking secrets hidden within the village. Rumors of black magic, rising political tensions, threats of violence, activist interference, and growing fear among villagers turn the bizarre investigation into something much bigger and darker than anyone imagined.

The trailer has generated strong buzz for its authentic rural flavor, eccentric characters, and chaotic storytelling style. Instead of relying on routine comedy, the humor naturally flows through the villagers’ exaggerated reactions, misunderstandings, and the sheer seriousness with which everyone approaches the rooster disappearance.

Veteran actor Nagendra Babu appears in a powerful role as Gajapati Raju, while Getup Srinu and Raviteja Nannimala steal attention as the confused yet determined cops Mohan Sotari and Ravi Sotari. Their comic timing and accidental detective work promise plenty of entertainment throughout the series.

The ensemble cast also includes Reethu Chowdary, Charan Lakkaraju, Siri Parvathy, and Kireeti Damaraju in important roles.

Visually, Memu Coplam captures the raw essence of the Godavari region with colorful village landscapes, atmospheric night visuals, and a rooted storytelling style. The series blends folklore, superstition, village politics, and rural ego into a uniquely chaotic mystery entertainer.

Produced by B.V.S. Ravi under the RAW Entertainments banner and directed by Pradeep Maddali, the series is backed by a strong creative team. The story is written by Shoban Chittuprolu, with screenplay contributions from Shoban Chittuprolu and Chanakya Varma. Dialogues are penned by Shoban Chittuprolu, Chanakya Varma, and Gopala Krishna Vidmahe. Music is composed by Saket Komanduri, while Kishore Boyidapu handles cinematography and Michael D’selva takes care of editing.

Known for delivering rooted Telugu originals across multiple genres, ZEE5 Telugu continues its successful OTT journey with projects like Paruvu, Puli Meka, Viraatapalem, and Aha Naa Pellanta. With Memu Coplam, the platform once again dives deep into a distinctly Telugu rural setup packed with humor, suspense, folklore, and madness.

Filled with eccentric characters, unpredictable twists, and nonstop village chaos, Memu Coplam promises to be a fun-filled mystery ride when it premieres on May 22 exclusively on ZEE5.
