Acting in ‘Shivoham’ Is a Blessing – Tanikella Bharani
On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the devotional song “Shivoham”, dedicated to Lord Shiva, was launched on Monday at the Hyderabad Film Chamber.
The song is presented by Radhakeshav and produced by Pottapu Keshava Reddy. It is directed by Damu Reddy, with music composed by Yashokrishna. Renowned Malayalam singer Madhu Balakrishnan has lent his voice to the song. Shivoham will be telecast on Keertana TV in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
The launch event was attended by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Madabhinavoddanda Vidyashankara Bharati Mahaswamiji, Peethadhipathi of Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Pushpagiri Mahasansthanam, along with actor Tanikella Bharani, lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, and actor Gautam Raju.
Music director Yashokrishna said he felt fortunate to compose the song on such a sacred occasion and thanked the director and producer for the opportunity. Director Damu Reddy shared that Shivoham was created to enhance devotees’ spiritual experience during Maha Shivaratri and appreciated the support of the producer and Tanikella Bharani.
Producer Pottapu Keshava Reddy said it was an honor to release the song in the presence of the Swamiji and added that the team aimed to deliver not just devotion, but also a meaningful message to devotees.
Speaking at the event, Tanikella Bharani said he considers it a blessing to act in Shivoham. He revealed that the song was shot at the premises of the Isha Foundation after he personally sought permission. He praised director Damu Reddy’s vision, Yashokrishna’s music, Suddala Ashok Teja’s simple yet powerful lyrics, and Madhu Balakrishnan’s soulful singing.
Lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja expressed gratitude to Tanikella Bharani for giving him his first break and spoke about the deeper meaning of Lord Shiva’s form, highlighting equality, harmony, and the message of Ardhanarishvara.
His Holiness Sri Vidyashankara Bharati Mahaswamiji said releasing Shivoham on Maha Shivaratri was a divine blessing and spoke about the philosophy of Advaita, which teaches equality and unity.
The event was smoothly anchored by noted lyricist Maunashree Mallik.
