“Jinn Will Give Full Value for Every Ticket”: Director Chinmay Ram
Produced by Nikhil M. Gowda under the banners Sadalamma Film Productions and Bilva Studios, Jinn is directed by Chinmay Ram. The film stars Amit Rao, Parvez Simba, Prakash Tuminad, Ravi Bhat, and Sangeetha in important roles. Scheduled for a grand theatrical release on December 19, the film’s teaser and trailer have already received a very positive response.
Speaking to the media ahead of the release, director Chinmay Ram shared his thoughts about the film.
I am from Karnataka and have been part of the Kannada film industry for the past 17 years. I have directed two Kannada films earlier, and Jinn is my first Telugu film. I’m extremely happy to begin my Telugu journey with this project.
Parvez Simba is a close friend. We once started a film together, but it didn’t take off. Later, Parvez narrated the story of Jinn, which he said came to him in a dream. That’s how this film was born.
Through a mutual friend, the story reached our producer Nikhil garu. He liked it immediately and felt the concept was fresh and different. He agreed to produce the film without any second thoughts.
Every filmmaker deserves a producer like Nikhil garu. He truly lives for cinema and never compromises on quality. His constant support at every stage is the main reason Jinn has come this far.
During the shoot, we experienced a few strange incidents. Lights would suddenly switch off, cameras would stop working, and there was a strange negative vibe on set. The team felt it might be connected to the theme of the film. After completing promotions once, we also met with a serious car accident while traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. We all survived, which still feels like a miracle.
I consider music director Alex as the first hero of Jinn. His background score has taken the film to another level. Cinematographer Sunil garu’s visuals are also a big strength.
Jinn is based on a fresh concept, exploring a world many people are not familiar with. The film is made to fully entertain audiences in theatres. I confidently say viewers will feel their ticket money is well spent.
If audiences support Jinn, I am ready to immediately start Jinn 2. The script is already prepared. Audience encouragement is our biggest motivation, so I request everyone to watch and support our film in theatres.”
