Priyanka Arul Mohan on OG: “Kanmani will always stay close to my heart”
Priyanka Arul Mohan, the leading lady of OG, is all smiles as the release date of September 25 approaches. With Power Star Pawan Kalyan headlining the film, directed by Sujeeth and bankrolled on a grand scale by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainment, the buzz is at its peak. Priyanka, who plays the pivotal role of Kanmani, shares her journey and excitement about the film.
On working in OG“My journey with OG has been close to two and a half years, and it’s been unforgettable,” says Priyanka. “Acting alongside Pawan Kalyan garu is a privilege. He’s a true gentleman—kind, humble, and an inspiration both on and off screen. Out of all the roles I’ve done, Kanmani is one of my favorites and will always remain very special to me.”

“The moment Sujeeth narrated the story, I loved it. The character of Kanmani struck a chord with me instantly. And when you add Pawan Kalyan garu, Sujeeth’s vision, and DVV Entertainment’s scale, it was an instant yes for me.”

“The story unfolds in the 1980s–1990s. Kanmani is an innocent, sweet, lovable girl who is deeply in love with Gambheera. She plays a very important part in changing his life. Even the look, styling, and characterization were carefully designed to match the period.”

“This is my first collaboration with Thaman, and it’s been wonderful. He gave every song a unique flavor. The very first composition he made for the film was Suvvi Suvvi. I loved it right away, and seeing the overwhelming response now is truly heartwarming.”

He’s much calmer now and carries a sense of responsibility for people. Even on set, he often talks about the youth, society, and politics. Handling cinema and such a huge responsibility as Deputy CM is no small thing—and he’s doing it gracefully.
Upcoming projects
I’m listening to a few scripts in Telugu while also working in other languages. But for now, my focus is entirely on OG. I can’t wait for audiences to watch the film.
