“Veera Chandrahasa will preserve our culture”: Director & Music Director Ravi Basrur
“We are confident about the success of Veera Chandrahasa”: Producer M. V. Radhakrishna
“Working with Ravi Basrur is an unforgettable experience”: Producer James W. Kommu
Presented by Hombale Films, Veera Chandrahasa, directed and scored by Ravi Basrur, is all set for a grand worldwide release on September 19.
The Kannada blockbuster Veera Chandrahasa is now being released in Telugu by Kanchi Kamakshi Kolkata Kaali Creations and SJK Banners, with producers M. V. Radhakrishna and James W. Kommu. Radhakrishna, known for his good taste in films, has previously brought Kannada hits like Veda (starring Shivarajkumar) and Rakshasa (starring Prajwal Devaraj) to Telugu audiences. Now, he has acquired the Telugu rights to Veera Chandrahasa, which will hit theaters across Telugu states on September 19. A grand pre-release event was held at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Basrur said:
“This is a powerful story rooted in Yakshagana culture. It’s a film I have dreamed of making for 12 years. It reflects the journey of ordinary people who rise from zero to hero through dedication. The story will connect with everyone. Cinema provides livelihood to thousands, and with the money I earn from music, I’ve made it my goal to produce and direct at least one film every year to give opportunities to new talent. Veera Chandrahasa is my sixth directorial venture. No matter how far we go, we must never forget our roots. This film creates a new world inspired by Yakshagana. Personally, I had many failures until Ugramm changed my life. For giving me that chance, Prashanth Neel will always be like God to me.”
Producer M. V. Radhakrishna said:
“Recently, Veera Chandrahasa completed 100 days in Kannada — a rare achievement these days. It was a massive hit there, and we’re very happy to present it in Telugu. The film reflects Indian tradition and civilization, built around the concept of Yakshagana. Ravi Basrur, who gave unforgettable music for KGF and Salaar, has not only directed this film but also composed its music. Just like it succeeded in Kannada, we’re confident Telugu audiences will embrace it too.”
Producer James W. Kommu said:
“It’s an honor to share the stage with legendary music director Ravi Basrur. Music is my passion, and I also share a special bond with Bengaluru, the city he hails from. Working with him has been a memorable experience. He is an institution in himself and a man who loves society deeply. He put his village, Basrur, on the world map. Traveling this journey with him is a joy. We are confident that when the film releases on September 19, it will surely win everyone’s hearts.
