Butta Bomma is gearing up for its grand release on February 04, 2023. The movie is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. With Anikha Surendran, Surya Vashistta and Arjun Das in the lead roles, debutant director Shourie Chandrasekhar T Ramesh carved it to perfection. The music is composed by Gopi Sunder and Sweekar Agasthi. This romantic thriller set in a village backdrop with interesting characters will be a perfect entertainer this weekend. 

Here are the excerpts from Surya Vashistta’s interaction with media. 

On the Journey into movies

I completed my Master’s in Computer Science in the USA and worked as Software developer for 5 years. I still teach as a professor at a college in Hyderabad. My father Sathyam worked as a co-director in the industry for 30 years. He worked with K Raghavendra Rao, S S Rajamouli, and Trivikram. Sadly, he passed away few years back due to Covid. He always wanted to see me as an actor. When I was working in the USA, he called me to India and said this is the time to venture into acting. Our family was watching a Malayalam film and my father said you could portray characters like these, and they suit you a lot. After he passed away, a year later, I met Trivikram and he suggested me to attend an audition at Sithara Entertainment and I am lucky to have this role in Butta Bomma. I am happy that my father’s last wish came true in this form. 

On late entry into movies

My dad wanted me to gain some international exposure before I take up movies. So, he sent me to the US for studies and employment. I stayed there for 5 years before returning to our country. 

On the interest in cinema

My dad earned a great respect in the movie industry and suggested me to become an actor. I had interest in movies in early days and acting became my passion. Now I am living my father’s dream. 

What excited you to be a part of Butta Bomma?

In the Malayalam original, I liked the rawness and was excited for that. I am happy that I got this film and portraying a wonderful role in the film. I always wanted to do fresh roles and this movie, especially in the first half, I get to add some novelty to the character. 

On working with co-stars

Off screen it was really fun working with them. Anika is a sweetheart. She doesn’t know Telugu and I helped her a bit to get her lines. Arjun is already a big star and got many fans for his voice. He was part of many action films and gave me some valuable suggestions during shoots. 

On challenges faced during the shoot

Director Ramesh is very particular in getting the best out of the stars. With so many takes for one scene, the process became mechanical after a point. But somehow, I managed to retain the freshness. That was like a tough act for me. During the action in the climax I got hurt a lot and was admitted in a hospital. It took a month to recover and get back to shoot. These are some challenges faced while shooting for Butta Bomma. 

On the applause received

My director told me before the shoot the no one must realise that I am a newcomer. I took those words and worked really hard for the film. When the producers and director watched the final copy, they applauded me for the efforts. They felt as if watching an experience actor. 

On future projects

I like movies that are close to reality and want to act in such movies. Any movie that engages the audience along with a message works for me. After the teaser of Butta Bomma was out, some new directors approached me with scripts. I will hear more scripts and take a decision after the release of Butta Bomma. 

Who are you favourite directors?

In Telugu, I have observed S S Rajamouli and Trivikram closely. I won’t leave any opportunity to work with them. 

What’s your favourite genre?

 

I feel I am more set for thrillers and romance with my experience of working for Butta Bomma. I am also not restricting myself to hero roles and I am open to any role.

Star producer Dil Raju unveils First Look

'Kerintha' fame Parvateesam and Jashvika pair up for Sri Balaji Pictures' new-age platonic love story 'Telusa Manasa', written and directed by Vaibhav. Producers Varsha Mundada and Madhavi are bankrolling it.

The film's story takes place in the backdrop of a village. Parvateesam will be seen as a balloon-seller named Malli Babu in the village, while Jashvika will be seen as Sujatha, a health assistant. They fall in love with each other and despite their reciprocal feelings, they struggle to confess their love for each other due to inhibitions. Much as Malli Babu tries his best to express himself to Sujatha on several occasions, he fails to. All of a sudden, the castles that Mallli Babu built in the air collapse. Distance grows between him and Sujatha. Did they ever meet again in life? That's the crux of the story of 'Telusa Manasa'.

The shoot of the movie is currently going on at a fast clip. On Wednesday, the film's first look poster was released at the hands of star producer Dil Raju, who wished the team all the best.

The First Look is interesting. We see senior artist Rohini Hattangadi seated in a chair alongside a young woman (the heroine) and a young boy who is fast asleep. Parvateesam is by the side of the cot, seemingly lost in his thoughts.

Debutant director Vaibhav is carving the movie as a new-age love story. National Award winning music director Gopi Sundar is composing the music. Prasad Edara is its director of photography. Editing is being done by KAY Papa Rao.

Title song 'Sasivadane' unveiled by Harish Shankar

Young actor Rakshit Atluri is doing 'Sasivadane', which is a love and action drama set in the backdrop of Godavari. Presented by Gauri Naidu, the film marks the coming together of SVS Constructions Pvt. Ltd. and AG Film Company. Rakshit Atluri and Komalee Prasad are its lead pair, while Praveen Yendamuri, Tamil actor Sriman, Kannada actor Deepak Prince, and Jabardasth Bobby have got important roles. Directed by Saimohan Ubbana and produced by Ahiteja Bellamkonda, the film is gearing up for a theatrical release soon.

Star director Harish Shankar today unveiled the title song from the promising movie. "Very Happy to release such a beautiful & evergreen melody #Sasivadane. All the best to the entire team  (sic)," the 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' director tweeted.

A soulful song, it is shot on the lead pair. Kittu Vissapragada's lyrics tap into the pure nature of the love between the hero and heroine. The melody has been sung by the Hari Charan-Chinmayi Sripada duo and their beautiful rendition suggests that the lead pair are going through a transcendental experience in the backdrop of real locations like a temple.

Saravana Vasudevan's music is a vintage melody that attempts to conquer your hearts and playlists. The picturization is the icing on the cake, accentuated by self-absorbed performances.

The film was shot in picturesque locations across Konaseema, Amalapuram over a span of 50 days.

The makers behind Thank You Brother, which starred Anasuya Bharadwaj, Viraj Aswin, Anish Kuruvilla, and a stellar cast. The film was directed by Ramesh Raparthy. This talented crew is ready to take new adventure with their second production.

The first glimpse that was released recently piqued everyone's interest, and now the makers have released  the lyrical song 'Shanna Shanna' from the film at St.Joses Degree and PG College, Basheer Bagh, Hyderabad.

College students released this romantic melody. The students loved the song. Guna Balasubramanyan composed the song, which was sung by Srimani Rayaga, Yashaswi Kondepudi, and Pragna Nayani. On this particular occasion, the team expressed their joy.

'This is my second film after Thank You Brother,' said hero Viraj Ashwin. Again, I anticipate the same love from the audience. Nowadays, our lives are mostly in the hands of our cell phones. This is a film with a very relatable concept. I enjoyed my role in the film, and I believe you will as well. Thank you to Ramesh Garu, the director, and the producers for giving me this opportunity.

 Butta Bomma is a gripping Romantic thriller with interesting characters:

Butta Bomma is all set for a big release on February 04, 2023. Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas bankrolled this project and it’s going to be a perfect entertainer for the upcoming long weekend. The movie has Anikha Surendran, Surya Vashistta and Arjun Das in the lead roles and is helmed by debutant director Sowri Chandrasekhar Ramesh. Director Ramesh worked with big directors in the past and this is his first film as a director. 

Here are the excerpts from director Shourie Chandrasekhar T Ramesh’s interaction with media. 

On your journey in the movie world

I did MBA in Marketing and I had a passion in cinema. I always believed to have basic education before taking a plunge into the movie world. I started my journey with Varma Corporation and worked under director E Nivas for films such as Shool, Love ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Bardaasht, and Dum. When my father passed away, I had to come to my hometown and later joined Sukumar’s team and worked from Jagadam to Pushpa 2. My idea loves movies a lot and used to take me to a lot of films. Chandrasekhar is my dad’s name and I have included it in my name. I want my dad’s name to appear on screen as he is my inspiration. 

On the script idea

I happened to see the Malayalam original and liked the movie a lot and wanted to remake it in Telugu. This is a script-based film and can be remade into other languages. So, I adapted it into Telugu. When Sithara remade Ayyappanum Koshiyum as Bheemla Nayak, I loved their approach to the film. Navin Nooli is the editor for many Sithara films and I asked him for a possibility to direct the film and the collaboration happened. 

On the casting

 

We needed an actress who can play an innocent character. I saw Anika in Gautham Vasudev Menon web series and wanted to cast her in Butta Bomma. Arjun Das is purely Vamshi’s choice and Surya came through an audition. 

On changes made to Butta Bomma

Our Telugu culture, comedy and emotions are different, so we changed nuances but didn’t change the universal point that appeals to all. You can see some good change in the first half. I bet when the Malayalam director watches the Telugu version, he will be surprised at this change.  

 

Of the 3 actors, who will hog the limelight

All the 3 actors – Anika, Arjun, Surya have author-backed characters. I am confident that all the three will fly high once the film releases. Arjun Das is familiar to Telugu audience and he will leave a mark with his base voice. 

 

On choosing the title Butta Bomma

The movie starts as a love story and shifts gears to a thriller. There is a concept running in the film. Then we decided to go with a popular song as it justifies it and also will have a good recall value. 

Do you believe that Romantic films are risky?

Any film depends on its merit. You have to make a genuine film and connect with the audience. That really makes a movie successful. Butta Bomma falls under Romantic thriller genre so it satisfies lovers of different genres. 

On the importance of music

Gopi Sunder did one song and background music for the film. Sweekar Agasthi composes two songs. The background score is wonderful and lifts the mood of the film. 

On Best compliment

Chinna Babu gave a compliment on the tweaks made to the screenplay. I consider that to be the best compliment. 

On the next film project

My next will be an action film. And my next film is purely dependant on Butta Bomma’s performance. I don’t have reservations on producers and actors, and would love to work with anyone.

సందీప్ కిషన్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. నాని, నేను కెరీర్ బిగినింగ్ నుంచి స్నేహితులం. కానీ సినిమా వేడుకకు  నాని రావడం ఇదే తొలి సారి. మైఖేల్ నాకు స్పెషల్ మూవీ కావడం, ఈ వేడుకకు నాని రావడం మరింత స్పెషల్ అయ్యింది. దసరా టీజర్ చూసి చాలా సర్ ప్రైజ్ అయ్యాను. నాని నిరంతరం స్ఫూర్తిని ఇస్తూనే ఉంటాడు. ప్రీరిలీజ్ వేడుక అంటే కొంచెం టెన్షన్ గా వుంటుంది. కానీ మైఖేల్ సినిమాకి మాత్రం చాలా హ్యాపీగా ఉన్నాను. ఈ సినిమాకి ఎంత కావాలో అంత పెట్టేశాను. నాకు బిగ్గెస్ట్ ప్రైడ్ లోకేష్ కనకరాజ్. నాకు యూనివర్స్ ఇచ్చిన గిఫ్ట్ రంజిత్ జయకోడి. నేను ఏదైతే చేయలేనని అనుకున్నారో అన్నీ సినిమాలో చేశాను. భరత్ గారు మమ్మల్ని బలంగా నమ్మారు. పుష్కర్ రాం మోహన్ రావు గారు, సునీల్ గారికీ కృతజ్ఞతలు. సమ సిఎస్ మైఖేల్ కి అద్భుతమైన మ్యూజిక్ ఇచ్చారు. కిరణ్ కౌశిక్ చాలా బ్రిలియంట్ డీవోపీ చేశారు. ఇది ఆయన మొదటిన్ సినిమా అంటే ఎవరూ నమ్మరు. విజయ్ సేతుపతి గారికి ఎన్ని థాంక్స్ చెప్పిన సరిపోదు. ఈ సినిమాపై ఆయన ఎంతో ప్రేమ చూపించారు. ఆ ప్రేమ తెరపై కనిపిస్తుంది. దివ్యాంశ అమెజింగ్ కోస్టార్.  అలాగే వరలక్ష్మీ శరత్ కుమార్ కూడా చాలా మంచి రోల్ చేశారు. గౌతం మీనన్ మా గురువు గారు. ఆయన ఈ సినిమాలో చేయడం చాలా స్పెషల్. అలాగే అనసూయ కూడా చాలా మంచి పాత్ర చేశారు. ట్రైలర్ కి టీజర్ కి వచ్చిన రెస్పాన్స్ చాలా ఆనందాన్ని ఇచ్చింది. నా బ్లడ్ మొత్తం పెట్టి ఈ సినిమా చేశానని చాలా మంది చెప్పారు. అయితే ఇది జస్ట్ బిగినింగ్ మాత్రమే. ఇలానే ప్రేమ చూపిస్తూ వుండటం..ఇంకా అద్భుతంగా పని చేస్తాను’’ అన్నారు.

దర్శకుడు రంజిత్ జయకోడి మాట్లాడుతూ.. ముందుగా నిర్మాతలకు కృతజ్ఞతలు. భరత్ గారు ఎంతో గొప్పగా చూసుకున్నారు. మొదట ఈ కథ మోహన్ గారికి చెప్పాను. అద్భుతంగా వుందని చెప్పారు. తర్వాత ఎప్పుడూ ఒక్క ప్రశ్న కూడా అడగలేదు. సునీల్ గారు చాలా స్వీట్. మై హీరో సందీప్ .. మై బ్రదర్. లవ్ యూ సందీప్. ఇందులో భాగమైన నా స్నేహితుడు విజయ్ సేతుపతికి బిగ్ థాంక్స్. వరుణ్ సందేశ్ తన నటనతో ఆశ్చర్యపరిచారు. సామ్ సిఎస్, కిరణ్ కౌశిక్ వండర్ పుల్ వర్క్ ఇచ్చారు ఈ సినిమాలో పని చేసిన అందరికీ పేరుపేరున కృతజ్ఞతలు. ’’ తెలిపారు.

నిర్మాత పుస్కూర్ రామ్ మోహన్ రావు మాట్లాడుతూ.. రంజిత్ ఈ కథ చెప్పినప్పుడే చాలా నచ్చింది. కథ ఎలా అయితే అద్భుతంగా చెప్పారో అంతకంటే అద్భుతంగా సినిమా తీశారు. మైఖేల్ చూసి సర్ ప్రైజ్ అయ్యాం. నిర్మాతలుగా చాలా హ్యాపీగా వున్నాం. సందీప్ గారికి ఇది బిగ్గెస్ట్ సినిమా. దేశంలో 1500 థియేటర్స్ లో విడుదల చేస్తున్నాం. హిందీలో దాదాపు 500 థియేటర్స్ లో విడుదల చేస్తున్నాం’’ అన్నారు

ఛోటా కె. నాయుడు మాట్లాడుతూ.. సందీప్ ఈ సినిమా గురించి చెబుతూ వేరే లెవల్ అన్నాడు. ట్రైలర్ చూసిన తర్వాత సందీప్ మాటలని నమ్ముతునాను. మైఖేల్ లో కనిపిస్తున్న సందీప్ లుక్ కావాలని పదేళ్ళుగా అడుగుతూనే వున్న. చివరికి ఆ క్రెడిట్ దర్శకుడు రంజిత్ కి దక్కింది.  చాలా అద్భుతంగా తీశాడు. యాక్షన్ తో పాటు రోమాన్స్ వుంది. వరుణ్ సందీప్ పాత్రని కూడా ఊహించలేకపోయా. డీవోపీ కిరణ్ ని చూస్తే జెలసీగా వుంది. అంత అద్భుతంగా తీశాడు. నిర్మాతలు సునీల్, భరత్, మోహన్ నాకు ఎంతో మంచి స్నేహితులు. మైఖేల్ పట్ల చాలా హ్యాపీగా వున్నారు. అందుకే ఇంత కాన్ఫిడెంట్ గా మాట్లడుతున్నా’’ అన్నారు

నందిని రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ.. ఏడాది క్రితం మైఖేల్ కథని సందీప్ ఎంతో ప్రేమతో చెప్పాడు. ఇంత పిచ్చిగా ఒక కథ గురించి సందీప్ మాట్లాడటం మైఖేల్ కే జరిగింది. ట్రైలర్ చూసినప్పుడు సందీప్ అంత ప్రేమతో ఆ కథని ఎందుకు చెప్పారో అర్ధమైయింది. మైఖేల్ మ్యాజిక్ ని తెరపై చూడటానికి మేము అంతా సిద్దంగా వున్నాం. మైఖేల్ ఖచితంగా బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ అవుతుంది.

Thalapathy Vijay’s 67th under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj is going to be huge, in terms of casting, technical standards, and production values. S S Lalit Kumar is producing the movie on a high budget under 7 Screen Studio, while Jagadish Palanisamy is the co-producer.

Thalapathy67 features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, and Sandy Master. Now, Trisha Krishnan comes on board as the leading lady opposite Vijay in the movie. This will be the fifth movie for Trisha with Vijay. The magical pair is set to work together after 14 long years.

Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander scores the music for the movie, while Manoj Paramahamsa handles the cinematography. Philomin Raj takes care of editing and N. Sathees Kumar is the art director. Ramkumar Balasubramanian is the Executive Producer.

MUMBAI, India—February 1, 2023—Today, Prime Video confirmed that prolific actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be starring alongside Varun Dhawan in the Indian installment of the Citadel universe, the global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. The untitled Citadel series based out of India is being helmed by renowned creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), who are the showrunners and directors. The local installment is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK. The streaming service also confirmed that the production is currently underway in Mumbai. After this, the unit will head  to North India and then onwards to international locales like Serbia and South Africa. The untitled Indian Original Citadel series will be available to Prime members in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

As previously announced, Richard Madden (Bodyguard) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico) will star in the first-to-launch series within the Citadel universe, which comes from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO along with David Weil (Hunters) and is set to premiere in 2023. Alongside Madden and Chopra Jonas, the first-to-launch Citadel series will also feature Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games saga). Additional local-language Citadel productions are also in the works, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing).

Natural Star Nani’s mass action entertainer Dasara’s teaser was unveiled yesterday to an overwhelming response. The teaser showed Nani in a totally different avatar and the actor is lauded by all and sundry for his exceptional performance.

As shown in the trailer, the story revolves around people working in coal mines in Godavarikhani in Telangana and the dark and gritty tone of the film shows how the workers and their families are forced to live in grime.

The teaser took YouTube by storm and it is still trending top nationwide in all languages on the video sharing platform. National media too heaped praise on the content, performances, taking and making standards.

The video clocked a record 13 Million views within 24 hours which is a record for a Nani starrer. The teaser surely made enough sound and set the bar high.

Keerthy Suresh is the leading lady in the movie produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under SLV Cinemas banner. Dasara is slated for a Pan India release on March 30th.

Thalapathy Vijay’s 67th film to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj under the banner of 7 Screen Studio was announced officially yesterday. The film tentatively titled Thalapathy67 is a prestigious project for the production house that collaborate with Vijay for the third time following the blockbuster success of Master and Varisu (Vaarasudu in Telugu).

The project marks the reunion of Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj, after the massive success in their previous outing - ‘Master’. Produced by S S Lalit Kumar and Co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy, the shoot of the movie commenced on 2nd January, 2023 and is progressing at a brisk pace.

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt comes on board for the movie. The mighty star is quite contented to be part of the movie. “When I heard the one liner of Thalapathy67, I knew in that exact moment I had to be a part of this film and I’m thrilled to start this journey,” says he.

Priya Anand will also be part of the movie. “Thrilled to be a part of Thalapathy67! Looking forward to working with such an incredible cast & crew!” says she.

 

Besides delivering the chartbuster albums in Kaththi, Master and Beast, ‘Thalapathy 67’ will be Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander’s fourth association with Thalapathy Vijay sir.

Bringing families to theatres has become one of the toughest tasks of late, due to high ticket prices everywhere. However, the makers of Suhas starrer Writer Padmabhushan have set affordable prices for single as well as multiplex screens.

As announced by the makers, single screens will charge 110 Rupees, while we need to pay 150 Rupees to watch the movie in multiplexes. These all include GST prices. The ticket prices are within the budget limits of families.

The makers are thrilled with the unanimously positive response to the premiere shows of the movie in Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhimavaram and Kakinada. The bookings are now open for the premiere shows of the movie in Hyderabad on February 2nd. Asian Lakshmikala Cinepride, Prasads Multiplex, AMB Cinemas, and BVK Multiplex Vijayalakshmi will screen the premieres.

Writer Padmabhushan will be arriving in cinemas on February 3rd.

Natural Star Nani for his 30th movie will be helmed by debutant Shouryuv. Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala, and Murthy KS will be producing the movie to be made on a grand scale under Vyra Entertainments with a high budget and lavish technical standards. The film has been launched grandly today in Hyderabad.

For the muhurtham shot, megastar Chiranjeevi sounded the clapboard and Ashwini Dutt switched on the camera. Buchi Babu, Kishore Thirumala, Hanu Ragavapudi, Vasistha, and Vivek Athreya together directed the first shot. Before that, Vijayendra Prasad handed over the script to the makers to begin the proceedings. Palasa Karun Kumar, Girish Ayyer, Devakatta, Chota K Naidu, Suresh babu, Dil Raju, 14 Reels Gopi- Ram Achanta, AK Anil sunkara, Mythri Ravi, DVV Danayya, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, KS Rama Rao, Sahu Garapati, Asian Sunil, Abhisheik Agarwal, Niharika Konidela and Kalyan Dasari were the other guests for the opening ceremony. The regular shoot of the movie commences tomorrow in Hyderabad.

Mrunal Thakur is the heroine opposite Nani in the movie which will have some young and talented technicians taking care of different crafts. Sanu John Varughese ISC will be cranking the camera, while popular Malayalam composer Hesham Abdul Wahab of Hridayam fame scores the music.

Jan 31, 2023, Mumbai: Netflix, one of the world’s leading entertainment services, will globally celebrate legendary film-maker Yash Chopra & Yash Raj Films’ rich cultural legacy of 50 years in a new four-part docu-series titled 'The Romantics’!

 

The global streaming giant will release the trailer of the docu-series tomorrow.  The docu- series will release in190 countries and will also be subtitled in 32+ world languages, given the reach of Bollywood across the world and the impact that YRF has had in shaping the equity of Hindi film industry worldwide for 50+ years. 

Netflix will globally release The Romantics on Feb 14, 2023 as a tribute to Yash Chopra, who is regarded as the ‘Father of Romance’ in India because of his iconic romantic films like Silsila, Lamhe, Kabhi Kabhie, Veer-Zaara, Dil To Pagal Hai, Chandni, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, etc.

 

The Romantics has been directed by Smriti Mundhra, who returns to Netflix after the phenomenal success of Indian Matchmaking and the Never Have I Ever franchise. The Oscar & Emmy-nominated film-maker’s docu-series, The Romantics, will open up the year for Netflix’s unscripted slate in India in 2023.

 

The star-packed docu-series will feature 35 leading voices of the Hindi film industry, including the mega-stars who have closely worked with YRF through its existence, and dive into the history of Bollywood through the lens of YRF’s impact in making Bollywood and it’s leading stars a household name globally.
