“Modern Missamma is a film that everyone will enjoy” – Producer Kishore Naidu
“We made this film to match today’s trends” – Producer Chiranjeevi Pamidi
“Making a house, conducting a wedding and making a film are equally challenging” – Director Sai Baba
“Modern Missamma will connect with audiences” – Hero Harsha Narra
The first single from the upcoming Telugu film Modern Missamma was launched grandly on Wednesday at Prasads Labs in Hyderabad.
Produced by Chiranjeevi Pamidi, Shiva Pamidi, Kiran Kumar Nalluri and Sravanthi Namburi under the Lasya & Mithuna Creations banner, the film is written and directed by Sai Baba. Harsha Narra and Tanmayi Khushi play the lead roles, with Siju AR, Pramodini, Harika, Dr. Bhadram, Shivannarayana, Rakesh Rachakonda and others in key roles.
The first single, titled ‘Better Be A Missamma’, is composed by Gopi Sundar with lyrics by Kittu Vissapragada. Featuring Harsha Narra and Tanmayi Khushi in traditional looks, the song presents the heroine’s hesitation about marriage from a woman’s perspective. The makers believe the song will especially connect with women.
Speaking at the launch, producer Kishore Naidu, who recently watched the film, praised the team and said he could not find any major flaws in the movie. He expressed confidence that audiences would enjoy Modern Missamma and particularly appreciated Dr. Bhadram’s comic performance.
Hero Harsha Narra said that Modern Missamma is his third film after Missing and Roti Kapada Romance. Though his earlier films did not achieve the expected commercial success, he said he would continue working hard. He added that the team made Modern Missamma with passion and love and praised Tanmayi Khushi’s performance, Gopi Sundar’s music and Kittu Vissapragada’s relatable lyrics.
Heroine Tanmayi Khushi said she was happy to be part of a story told from a woman’s point of view. She compared the new song to the way Vaddura Sodaraa from Manmadhudu connected with men and expressed hope that Better Be A Missamma would similarly strike a chord with women.
Director Sai Baba said making a film is as challenging as building a house or conducting a marriage. He thanked the entire cast, technicians and producers for their support. He added that choosing the classic title Missamma was a bold decision, but the team believed their story had the strength to justify the title.
The director clarified that the film does not discourage marriage. Instead, Modern Missamma aims to show what people should understand and consider before entering marriage. He also highlighted Gopi Sundar’s music as one of the film’s major strengths.
Producer Chiranjeevi Pamidi said Modern Missamma is the second production from their banner after Calling Sahasra. He said the team started working on the film two years ago with the aim of creating a story suited to current trends. He expressed happiness with the final output and said completing the film within the planned budget and schedule was itself a major achievement.
DOP Sheshu Raj Daddala described Modern Missamma as an important film in his career and credited the entire team’s hard work for the quality of the final product. Choreographer Balakrishna also expressed his happiness about working on the film’s title song.
With its contemporary storyline, strong performances and music by Gopi Sundar, Modern Missamma is gearing up to offer a fresh family entertainer with a modern take on marriage and relationships.
