Director V.Muniraju Interview about Thimmarajupalli TV

“Thimmarajupalli TV is a gripping suspense drama that keeps audiences hooked till the end,” says director V. Muniraju

“Thimmarajupalli TV,” produced by Kiran Abbavaram under KA Productions in association with Sumaira Studios, is set for a grand theatrical release on April 17. The film introduces Sai Tej and Veda Jalandharr as the lead pair, while V. Muniraju makes his directorial debut. Teja Velpucharla is the co-producer.

Sharing about his journey, Muniraju said becoming a director was always his dream. He initially worked in online editing for a living but later returned to his passion by writing a script and shooting a demo in his village with local people. During the shoot of Meter, he met Kiran Abbavaram, who liked the idea and encouraged him to develop it into a full film. That’s how Thimmarajupalli TV took shape.

The story is inspired by real-life incidents from the director’s childhood. Set in a rural backdrop, it reflects village life, human emotions, and ego. Muniraju says when television first arrived in villages, it felt like a big event almost like bringing a theater home. The film captures those memories, making it relatable especially for audiences above 40, while also offering a fresh experience for younger viewers.

He adds that even Gen Z audiences will find the film interesting, as it showcases a lifestyle and culture they may not be familiar with. The story unfolds in the Rayalaseema region and was shot in real locations in Thimmarajupalli village, adding authenticity to the narrative.

Calling it a pure suspense drama, the director says the film keeps viewers engaged throughout, constantly building curiosity about what happens next. Along with suspense, it also delivers strong emotions towards the climax.

Muniraju aimed for a realistic storytelling style rather than a commercial format. Inspired by films like Sairat, Jhund, and Satya, he focused on natural performances and even shot long single-take scenes lasting up to six or seven minutes.

He expressed gratitude to producer Kiran Abbavaram for trusting him and supporting a small film with a good release. He believes that if the film succeeds, it will open more doors for new talent in the industry.

The film features actors from different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including theatre artists. Muniraju says every character plays an important role, and the performances will impress audiences. Technically, the film is made with high standards, including Atmos sound, and each song has been uniquely designed.

With five to six stories already ready, the director hopes to continue making films inspired by real-life experiences.
