Dil Raju Introduces ‘DilRaju Dreams’ with Mythological Thriller “Markandeya”
Well-known producer Dil Raju has launched a new banner called DilRaju Dreams with the aim of supporting young and new talent in the film industry. The first film under this banner is titled “Markandeya,” featuring young actor Vikranth in the lead role. The movie is directed by Sistla VMK and is being made as a mythological thriller.
The title glimpse of Markandeya was released grandly in Hyderabad, creating strong interest among audiences and industry members.
Speaking at the event, cinematographer Jagadeesh Varma Bhoopathi Raju shared that this is his first film as a DOP and thanked Dil Raju and the team for trusting him. He said the glimpse marks the beginning of an exciting journey for everyone involved.
Music director Hari SR expressed gratitude to his mentor Thaman and said the film’s music will leave a strong impact. He mentioned that the story is powerful and that the audience will connect deeply with the film.
Director Sistla VMK thanked Dil Raju for encouraging newcomers and supporting fresh talent. He clarified that AI was used only as a supporting tool during planning and that no AI-generated visuals are part of the film. He praised Vikranth’s dedication and said the actor truly represents the character of Markandeya.
Actor Vikranth said that ideas like immortality and multiple universes have existed in Indian mythology for centuries. He described Markandeya as a modern interpretation of an epic concept, blending mythology with a contemporary narrative. He thanked Dil Raju for guiding the team at every stepfrom script development to budgeting and production. Vikranth added that while the film involves high-quality CG work, emotional depth remains its strongest focus. The story shows how a modern-day Markandeya faces challenges and overcomes them with the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Producer Dil Raju extended Mahashivaratri wishes to everyone and spoke about his 23-year journey in the industry. He said DilRaju Dreams is a special division created to encourage new filmmakers. Impressed by the strong content of Markandeya and Vikranth’s determination, he chose this project as the first film under the new banner. The movie is planned for release next year during Mahashivaratri. He also revealed that four more films are in progress under DilRaju Dreams, with a mix of theatrical and OTT releases.
