Cubes Entertainments’ “KATTALAN” Teaser Launch Becomes a Mega Fan Fest in Kochi
The teaser of Kattalan, a big-budget Malayalam action thriller produced by Shereef Muhammed under Cubes Entertainments, has been officially released. The teaser was unveiled at a grand event at Vanitha-Vinitha Theatre, Kochi, where fans, media, and special guests gathered in huge numbers. The first screening itself created a massive buzz, with the audience cheering throughout.
Filled with high-energy action, the teaser gives a strong hint that Kattalan will deliver intense thrills and powerful fight sequences on a scale rarely seen in Malayalam cinema.
One of the most talked-about moments in the teaser is Antony Varghese’s face-off with an elephant in the forest. What makes it even more exciting is the disclaimer confirming that the scenes were shot using a real elephant, without VFX. Antony’s role is expected to be one of the most powerful mass characters of his career.
Kattalan is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 14, and is being promoted as one of the biggest Malayalam releases ever. The film is directed by debutant Paul George.
The action sequences were designed in Thailand under internationally known stunt expert Kecha Khamphakdee and his team, famous for the Ong-Bak series. The elephant “Pong,” known from Ong-Bak films, is also part of Kattalan, and the teaser’s elephant action scenes have already impressed viewers.
Music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, who became popular with hit films like Kantara and Maharaja. With strong visuals, international-level action, and powerful background score, the film promises a complete mass action experience.
The film has reportedly locked a major overseas deal and created strong pre-release business even before shooting completion. In association with Phars Films, the makers are planning what is said to be the biggest overseas release for a Malayalam film. This comes after Cubes Entertainments’ earlier success with the pan-Indian blockbuster Marco.
Made as a pan-Indian project, Kattalan features Dushara Vijayan as the female lead. The cast also includes Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Raj Tirandasu, Parth Tiwari, along with Malayalam actors Jagadish and Siddique, and several popular young talents.
The screenplay is written by Joby Varghese, Paul George, and Jero Jakab, with dialogues by Unni R.
The film will release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
