Indian Film ‘Bramayugam’ to Screen at the Academy Museum, Los Angeles on February 12, 2026
The acclaimed Malayalam film Bramayugam (2024), written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan and produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, is set to be screened at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on February 12, 2026.
The screening will be part of the museum’s special film series, Where the Forest Meets the Sea: Folklore from Around the World, which runs from January 10 to February 12, 2026.
Presented in striking black and white, Bramayugam is a gripping tale set in the dark ages of Kerala’s folklore a haunting exploration of fear, power, and human frailty. The film has been praised for its visual depth, atmospheric sound design, and compelling storytelling.
The film stars Mammootty as Kodumon Potti, along with Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in key roles. The technical team includes Shehnad Jalal (Cinematography), Christo Xavier (Music), Jothish Shankar (Production Design), Shafique Mohammed Ali (Editing), Jayadevan Chakkadath (Sound Design), and M.R. Rajakrishnan (Sound Mix).
Bramayugam marks the debut production of Night Shift Studios, a banner focused on creating high-quality horror and thriller films. The studio’s next release, Dies Irae starring Pranav Mohanlal, will premiere on October 31, 2025, reuniting the same core creative team.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, located in Los Angeles, is the world’s largest museum dedicated to the art and science of cinema. Designed by architect Renzo Piano, the museum features expansive exhibition spaces, two advanced theaters, and public areas such as the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby and The Walt Disney Company Piazza. It remains open to visitors six days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
