Love OTP Movie Review

Love OTP Movie Review

Love OTP is a youthful romantic drama from Bhavapreetha Productions, with Vijay M. Reddy producing and Smt. Pushpa Manireddy presenting it. The film is special for Aneesh, who steps into cinema as both the hero and the director. He is accompanied by Janvika, Aarohi Narayan, Natya Ranga, and seasoned actor Rajeev Kanakala. With the posters and teaser hinting at a playful love story, the movie finally arrived in theatres on November 14.

Story

Akshay (Aneesh) is a college student who dreams big about becoming a cricketer. His friend and classmate Sana (Aarohi Narayan) secretly carries strong feelings for him. She constantly tries to impress him, even though Akshay has no interest in romance mainly because his father (Rajeev Kanakala), a strict police officer, hates anything to do with young love.

Unable to accept Akshay’s lack of interest, Sana emotionally corners him into agreeing to a relationship. What starts as small pressure turns into a suffocating situation, disturbing Akshay’s focus and cricket performance. A serious injury leads him to physiotherapist Nakshatra (Janvika), whose gentle nature becomes a much-needed break from the chaos. As the two grow close, Akshay starts to realise how unhealthy his bond with Sana has become.

But trouble resurfaces when Sana learns of his new connection. How will Akshay’s father respond? Can Akshay manage his dreams, emotions, and the pressure around him? These conflicts drive the narrative of Love OTP.

Performances

Aneesh makes a confident debut, handling both acting and direction with surprising ease. As Akshay, he convincingly portrays a young man caught between ambition, confusion, and emotional pressure. Aarohi Narayan brings strong intensity to her role, effectively showcasing the possessiveness and obsession that drive much of the conflict. In contrast, Janvika delivers a calm and soothing performance that balances out the film’s emotional turbulence. Rajeev Kanakala strengthens the narrative with his composed yet stern portrayal of a strict father, and the rest of the supporting cast does a solid job, contributing naturally to the flow of the story.

Technical Aspects

On the technical front, Aneesh attempts to present a familiar love-triangle narrative with a slightly fresh perspective. The first half stays light with college humour and youthful energy, while the second half gradually shifts into a more emotional and intense zone. The interval twist is handled well and sets the stage for the central conflict. Comedy sequences land better in the later portions of the film, and the visuals remain clean and pleasant throughout. However, the music falls short of lifting the dramatic moments and occasionally slows the pace. A few dubbing issues are noticeable as well, and with more aggressive promotions, the film could have enjoyed wider reach. Despite these shortcomings, the movie manages to maintain an engaging tone through its neat execution.

Verdict

Love OTP offers a light, entertaining take on complicated relationships, mixing humour with emotional moments. Though not without flaws, the film manages to stay engaging with its fresh treatment and sincere performances.
