Santhana Prapthirasthu will connect with audiences through its mix of emotion, entertainment, and a strong message, says director Sanjeev Reddy
Santhana Prapthirasthu, starring Vikranth and Chandini Chowdary, is all set for a grand theatrical release on November 14. The film is directed by Sanjeev Reddy and produced by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy and Nirvi Hariprasad Reddy under Madhura Entertainment and Nirvi Arts.
In an exclusive interview, director Sanjeev Reddy shared his journey and the inspiration behind the movie.
Before entering films, I worked as a Chief Manager in a finance company. Later, I joined director Krishna Vamsi for Mahatma as an Assistant Director. My first independent Hindi film Login received good recognition and was later remade in Telugu as Ladies and Gentlemen. I went on to direct ABCD with Allu Sirish and the web series Aha Naa Pellanta with Raj Tarun, he recalled.
Talking about Santhana Prapthirasthu, he said,
The film revolves around male infertility a subject rarely explored in Telugu cinema. I’ve seen people close to me face this problem, and I wanted to tell their story with sensitivity and honesty. Though it’s a serious issue, we’ve presented it with situational humor and emotion so families can watch it comfortably.
Sanjeev Reddy emphasized that the film isn’t meant to make fun of the issue but to create awareness and encourage open conversations.
Male infertility is not a taboo it’s a social reality. We wanted to show it in a respectful, relatable way. The story is about a man dealing with low sperm count and how it affects his relationship and self-esteem.
He praised his cast and team, saying,
Vikranth immediately connected to the story. Chandini Chowdary was our first choice for the female lead she was bold and sincere in her performance. Tharun Bhascker also plays a key role and delivered it beautifully. Writer Sheikh Dawood’s screenplay and Kalyan Raghav’s inputs gave the story great depth.
The film has already received positive feedback from preview screenings in India and abroad.
Many people who watched it said it’s entertaining, emotional, and thought-provoking. Even technicians in the US who saw the prints said they’d watch it again with their families. That means a lot to us, said the director.
Sanjeev Reddy concluded by saying,
Santhana Prapthirasthu combines love, humor, and heartfelt emotions while addressing an important topic. We hope it entertains and also starts conversations that society usually avoids.
