Jared Leto on Working with Jeff Bridges in Tron: Ares: “He’s the Dude, He’s the Best

As Jared Leto gears up to take audiences back into the Grid with Tron: Ares, the actor says the real magic of the experience wasn’t just the futuristic worldbut sharing screen space with the legend who started it all, Jeff Bridges.

During promotions with Entertainment Tonight, Leto couldn’t stop gushing about his co-star:

“He’s the dude, man. He’s the best. Everything you hope he’ll behe is. Kind, funny, generous, inspiring. Some of my favorite days on set were the ones I got to spend with him. The first time he walked onto set, everyone just broke into applause. That’s the kind of presence he has.”

For Leto, Bridges isn’t just a cast memberhe’s the heart of Tron. “It’s hard to imagine a Tron movie without him. He’s the soul of it. Working with one of your heroes is a gift, and he’s been that for me since I was a kid.”

The admiration runs deep: Leto recalls first watching Tron at age 12, calling it a life-changing moment. “It had everythingtechnology, creativity, adventure. And Jeff’s performance made it unforgettable. To be following in his footsteps now feels surreal.”

And their bond extended beyond the cameraBridges even gave Leto a nickname on set: “Air.” Leto laughed, “As long as he wants it to stay, it stays. He’s been a teacher from afar for years, and to finally collaborate with him… it’s just beautiful.”
