The Gulf Academy Movie Awards (GAMA) is set to honor the best of Tollywood with its 5th edition, promising an unforgettable celebration of cinema. Following four successful events in Dubai, this year's awards will take place at the Sharjah Expo Centre in Dubai on August 30.
The curtain-raiser event, presented by Vaibhav Jewellers and Keinfra, was held in Hyderabad and drew a star-studded crowd, including GAMA CEO Saurabh Keshri, Vaibhav Jewellers MD Raghav, and renowned film personalities like Directors A. Kodandarami Reddy and B. Gopal. Actresses Faria Abdullah, Manasa Varanasi, Daksha Nagarkar, and actor Viva Harsha were also in attendance.
A Grand Event with a Heartfelt Mission
GAMA CEO Saurabh Keshri emphasized that the event is a tribute to his father, Mr. Trimurtulu, and his deep respect for artists. "We are conducting GAMA Awards in honor of my father, Mr. Trimurtulu’s love and respect for artists," he said. Keshri also revealed plans to expand the awards internationally, aiming to "amaze Telugu audiences not only in Dubai but across the globe." The winners were chosen by an expert jury to ensure fairness and quality.
Awards as a 'Multivitamin' for Artists
Esteemed Director and jury member A. Kodandarami Reddy likened awards to a "multivitamin" for actors, stating they "encourage and motivate everyone." The jury includes prominent figures like himself, B. Gopal, and music director Koti, ensuring a credible selection process.
Director B. Gopal praised the grand scale of the event, noting that Saurabh Keshri has elevated the arrangements this year. The ceremony will feature dazzling performances by leading actresses in front of a prestigious audience.
A Stage for Stellar Performances
The GAMA Awards will feature a mix of returning favorites and new performers. Actress Faria Abdullah, who performed at last year's event, promised something "special" for this year's audience. Meanwhile, actress Manasa Varanasi expressed her excitement about performing for the first time, and Daksha Nagarkar shared her thrill at being part of the event.
The show will be co-hosted by actor Viva Harsha alongside anchor Suma, with Harsha noting he's "very exciting" about the partnership and promising a show "full of entertainment."
The event's recently launched theme song, with lyrics by Oscar winner Chandrabose and music and vocals by Raghu Kunche, has already generated a buzz, setting the stage for a spectacular show. In addition to the main awards on August 30, an Excellence Awards ceremony will take place on August 29.
