JJ Perry, of John Wick Fame, Directs 45-Day Action Shoot for Yash's "Toxic"

Hollywood Action Guru JJ Perry Teams Up with All-Indian Stunt Crew for Yash's "Toxic"

JJ Perry, the renowned action director behind Hollywood hits like "John Wick" and "Day Shift," is currently in Mumbai leading an ambitious 45-day action shoot for the upcoming film "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups." The film, which stars and is produced by Yash, is braving the Mumbai monsoon for what's being called one of the most challenging action sequences ever filmed in India.

What's making headlines is Perry's decision to work exclusively with a talented team of Indian stunt professionals. After observing their skills and commitment, he chose to rely entirely on local talent for this high-stakes sequence.

"This Indian crew is world-class," Perry stated. "I love a great challenge and this team is meeting it head-on. We’re here to push boundaries together."

This major action scene was months in the making, with detailed planning involving Perry, Yash, director Geetu Mohandas, and the visual effects team at DNEG. The collaboration aims to create a new, visceral style of action for Indian cinema.

Perry, who has worked in 39 countries over his 35-year career, expressed his admiration for Indian cinema's creativity and boldness. "Getting the chance to work with Yash, Geetu, and their incredible team has been a highlight," he shared. "I don’t just want to replicate what’s been done I want to create something unique. And 'Toxic' is giving me that chance."

"Toxic" is set to be a landmark film, being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under their respective banners, the film is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 19, 2026.
