Fans' Unwavering Dedication Fuels Blood Donation Movement: Megastar Chiranjeevi
Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed heartfelt appreciation for the relentless commitment of his fans and supporters in driving the blood donation movement forward. During a special interaction with blood donors at the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank on Saturday, he honored mega blood donors and engaged in a sincere and emotional conversation with them.
Speaking at the event, Chiranjeevi shared, "My childhood friend Shankar serves as the CEO of the blood bank, while another close friend, CJS Naidu, is the CFO. Swamy Naidu has been a pillar of strength throughout this journey. Their unwavering support has allowed me to carry out these service programs successfully. My fans, my brothers, and sisters have stood by me, donating blood selflessly. No matter where we are in the future, this noble initiative will continue—driven by the generosity of my supporters who believe in the power of giving."
Reflecting on the movement’s origins, Chiranjeevi recalled, "When I first initiated this program, voluntary blood donation was rare. People were hesitant—some even expected money in return. Back then, many lives were lost due to the unavailability of blood during critical moments—whether due to excessive bleeding during childbirth, thalassemia, leukemia, or platelet deficiencies. It was heartbreaking to witness."
"Seeing the enthusiasm of my fans, I realized they could bring about meaningful change if guided in the right direction. That’s when I asked Swami Naidu to dedicate himself to this cause. Initially, I was unsure—would my fans step up if I requested? To encourage them, I set a condition: those who wished to meet me or take a photo with me had to donate blood first. The response was overwhelming—youth came forward in large numbers. But I wondered, would this passion last? Would they return? Today, some of you have donated dozens, even hundreds of times. Your belief in the joy of service keeps you coming back. After me, Ram Charan also wishes to carry this legacy forward. I firmly believe that acts of kindness always yield positive returns."
Recalling a touching incident, Chiranjeevi shared, "At the unveiling of Alluri Seetharama Raju’s statue, a leader made harsh remarks against me. While I usually ignore such comments, my admirers do not. A woman from the crowd immediately cursed that leader. Curious, I inquired about her. To my surprise, she wasn't even a fan of mine. When asked why she defended me so fiercely, she said, 'Chiranjeevi saved my child’s life. My child had dengue and needed blood, which we received because of him. He is like God to me. How could I stay silent when someone spoke ill of him?' That moment reaffirmed my belief that good deeds never go unnoticed. As our elders say, ‘Dharma protects those who uphold it.’ If we remain steadfast in our commitment to doing good, goodness will always find its way back to us. That is why I encourage people to think positively and continue doing good. Criticism doesn’t affect me because I know this movement is bigger than me. Blood donors are the true heroes—I am merely a facilitator. The credit for this noble cause belongs to you all."
Chiranjeevi also acknowledged the selfless contributions of individuals like Shankar, Naidu, and Swami Naidu, expressing deep gratitude for their dedication.
"I cherish every opportunity to meet blood donors. The Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust is your home—you are always welcome to come and donate blood whenever you wish. Love you all," he concluded.
