 Nobody Made A Film Like Maa Ishtam In Recent Times: Ram Gopal Varma



Sensational director Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming Pan India film Maa Ishtam coming in other languages including Hindi as Dangerous is a story of two women who have some bad experiences with men and in due course passionately fall in love with each other. The film’s promotional content lured youth and hikes expectations on the movie releasing worldwide on April 8th. Apsara Rani and Naina Ganguly played the lead roles in the movie. It’s Ram Gopal Varma’s birthday on April 7th. On the occasion, the director interacted with scribes. Here are the excerpts.


Tell us about the film Maa Ishtam?

It’s a crime backdrop movie. Two girls are trapped in a crime. The crux of the story is about how they fell in love with each other in the process of escaping from the crime. Both Apsara Rani and Naina Gangulay performed exceptionally as lesbians.


You face controversies while making these kinds of movies. How do you take them?

I don’t care about any controversies. I’ll make films, as per my wish.


You’ve great following, after Shiva. Don’t you feel they will get disappointed, if you make these kinds of movies?

I make films, based on a concept that comes to my mind. I force anyone to watch my movies. But I’m causing no harm to anybody with my movies.


Can we expect high budget movies from you with star heroes?

Don’t ever expect high budget films from me. Usually, family audience watch such movies. I can’t make high budget or family movies.


How far bold content will be in this film?

The film will be high on action than the bold content. There will be less novelty in it. In fact, audience are connecting more to posters of movies.


Puri and other directors are taking long breaks to make movies. Why are you in a hurry?

It depends on the working style of a director.


What’s the reason for you to make a film on romance between two heroines?

Nobody in the world so far shot a romantic song on two heroines. Nobody made a film with such a story in recent times.


What are your next projects?

An Indo-Chinese martial arts film is set for release in June. My other film Konda and a web-series Dahanam are ready for release. Other than these, I’ve preparied 20 other new scripts.
