‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ Trailer Launch: Producer Venu Donepudi Confident of Strong Theatrical Response



The trailer of the upcoming Telugu crime comedy ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ was unveiled at a grand event in Hyderabad. Presented by Donepudi Chakrapani and produced by Venu Donepudi under the banner of Chitralayam Studios, the film is directed by debutant Guni Manchikanti.


Starring Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oy, Malvi Malhotra, Samriddhi Aryaal, Vismaya Sri, Raja Ravindra and others, the film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 9.


The makers describe the movie as a new-age crime comedy with an unusual storyline, multiple interesting characters and plenty of entertainment.


 Upendra Limaye


Speaking at the event, actor Upendra Limaye recalled his association with Telugu cinema and thanked Sandeep Reddy Vanga for introducing him to the Telugu industry.


He said he was impressed by the unique storyline narrated by director Guni Manchikanti and decided to be part of the project because of its content. He also praised the young actors and technicians associated with the film.


Calling this his first full-fledged Telugu role, Upendra said the project is special to him. He expressed confidence that audiences would enjoy the film in theatres.


 Vishnu Oy


Actor Vishnu Oy said he immediately connected with the story when he first heard the script. He appreciated the performances of his co-stars, particularly National Award winner Upendra Limaye.


He also spoke about the experience of shooting in Meghalaya and praised cinematographer Ajay Abraham George for capturing the locations beautifully.


Vishnu thanked producer Venu Donepudi and director Guni Manchikanti and requested audiences to watch the film in theatres on October 9.


 Malvi Malhotra


Actress Malvi Malhotra said the title ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ itself creates curiosity. She revealed that her character Rama has grey shades and plays an important role in the story.


She added that the film is not built around a conventional hero-heroine storyline, as every character has significance.


Malvi also appreciated producer Venu Donepudi for backing Guni's vision and said the team had a memorable experience shooting across Meghalaya.


 Samriddhi Aryaal


For actress Samriddhi Aryaal, ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ marks her Telugu debut. She said learning and delivering Telugu dialogues was initially challenging, but the entire team supported her throughout the shoot.


Samriddhi thanked the cast, director and producers for making her comfortable on the sets and said she hopes to work with the team again.


 Akshay Lagusani


Actor Akshay Lagusani said the team worked with great dedication despite facing several challenges while shooting in Meghalaya.


He thanked producer Venu Donepudi for personally supporting the team during the production and also expressed gratitude to Nag Ashwin for launching the trailer.


Akshay appealed to audiences to support the film when it releases on October 9.

Producer Venu Donepudi thanked the entire cast and crew for their hard work. He particularly appreciated Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, the lead actresses and the technical team.


Speaking about the release, Venu acknowledged that several big films are also arriving around the same time. However, he pointed out that films with strong content have managed to connect with audiences even during competitive periods.


He said the team believes ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ can also create a strong impact with its content and entertainment.


Venu also thanked Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and the local administration for their support during the shoot.

He revealed that the team is planning a special contest to promote Meghalaya tourism. More details about the contest will be announced soon, with winners getting an opportunity to visit Meghalaya.

Director Guni Manchikanti thanked producer Venu Donepudi for giving a debut filmmaker an opportunity to make the film.

He revealed that the entire project moved quickly from narration to production, with the team completing the shoot in Meghalaya in around 28 days.

Guni credited writer Ajay, editor Vijay, production designer Sahi Suresh, costume designer Priyanka Srinivas and the entire technical team for their contribution.

He stressed that ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ is not a conventional hero-versus-villain story, with every character having an important role in the narrative.

The director described the film as a clean entertainer suitable for family audiences and requested everyone to watch it in theatres on October 9.
