Udaya Bhanu: “Panchanama Is More Than a Crime Thriller; It’s an Emotional Story”
The Telugu ZEE5 Original Panchanama held its preview and press meet at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad, on September 9, ahead of its September 11 premiere.
Directed by Mohan Srivatsa, the six-episode investigative thriller stars Bharath Srinivasan as cop Jai Ram, along with Medha Reddy, Shivaji Raja, Surya Srinivas, Srija, Radhika Preethi, Charan Babu and Shiva Karthik Danda.
Speaking at the event, producer Udaya Bhanu said Panchanama is a dream project that marks the beginning of her journey as a producer. She said the series combines crime, suspense and strong emotions, with the real story unfolding after the first two episodes.
She also revealed that the series was completed in just 22–24 days, despite challenging weather, multiple locations and reconstructed sets. “When you work with passion, nothing is difficult,” she said.
Hero Bharath Srinivasan described Panchanama as a gripping crime thriller with strong emotional depth. He said his character Jai Ram is a realistic and family-oriented cop, and expressed his desire to continue working in Telugu cinema.
Director Mohan Srivatsa said the non-linear screenplay was challenging but rewarding, while the cast and technical team worked together to deliver a fresh OTT experience.
Panchanama follows Jai Ram as he investigates his younger brother’s mysterious death and uncovers a larger criminal network connected to a series of deaths.
Panchanama premieres exclusively on ZEE5 on September 11, 2026.
