‘Committee Kurrollu’ Celebrates Two National Film Awards
Telugu film ‘Committee Kurrollu’ has achieved a major milestone by winning two honours at the 72nd National Film Awards.
Producer and actress Niharika Konidela received the Rajat Kamal for Best Telugu Film on behalf of Pink Elephant Pictures LLP and Shree Radha Damodara Studios. Director Yadhu Vamsee was also honoured for his contribution to the film.
The film added another prestigious award to its achievement, with P. Ravi Kumar winning the Best Make-up honour for his work on the movie.
The National Film Awards ceremony became a memorable occasion for the entire team, with Naga Babu, Padmaja Konidela and Phani Adapaka joining Niharika at the event.
‘Committee Kurrollu’ marked Niharika Konidela’s debut as a feature-film producer. Directed by debutant filmmaker Yadhu Vamsee, the film introduced an ensemble of 16 newcomers and presented a story deeply connected to Telugu culture and rural life.
Set in a village in Andhra Pradesh, the film revolves around a group of childhood friends and the unexpected conflicts that affect their lives. Along with friendship and nostalgia, the story touches upon caste, class, identity and social divisions.
Released theatrically on August 9, 2024, ‘Committee Kurrollu’ was produced by Padmaja Konidela and Jayalakshmi Adapaka under the banners of Pink Elephant Pictures and Shree Radha Damodara Studios.
The film features cinematography by Edurolu Raju, editing by Anwar Ali and music by Anudeep Dev.
The two National Film Awards mark a proud achievement for Niharika Konidela, Yadhu Vamsee, P. Ravi Kumar and the entire team of ‘Committee Kurrollu’, adding another memorable chapter to the film’s journey.
