Kiran Abbavaram to Star in Mythological Action-Fantasy ‘Indraputra’; Zee Studios and Prerna Arora Announce Ambitious Saga
Zee Studios and producer Prerna Arora have officially announced ‘Indraputra’, an ambitious pan-India mythological action-fantasy starring Kiran Abbavaram in the lead role. Directed by Srikanth Puppala, the film is envisioned as the first chapter of an expansive mythological cinematic universe and is set to begin principal photography in October 2026.
Rooted in the richness of Indian mythology, Indraputra brings together mythology, fantasy, action and emotion on a grand cinematic scale. The film is inspired by timeless legends and explores the eternal battle between dharma and adharma, promising a visually immersive experience for audiences.
Kiran Abbavaram will be seen in a powerful new avatar in the film. Director Srikanth Puppala aims to combine India's rich mythological heritage with contemporary storytelling, creating an expansive world that can connect with audiences across languages and generations.
The makers are also planning Indraputra as more than a standalone film, with the project serving as the first chapter of a larger mythological universe that has franchise potential.

Produced by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, and co-produced by Keerthan and Kussum Arora, Indraputra is currently in the pre-production stage. The film will go on floors this October, while further details regarding the ensemble cast, technical team and release plans are expected to be announced in the coming months.
With its large-scale world-building, Indian mythological backdrop, contemporary narrative and franchise ambitions, ‘Indraputra’ is shaping up to be an exciting new pan-India cinematic spectacle.
