ZEE5 Brings a New Mythological Adventure for Kids with 'Shivlok Ke Kundakka Mandakka'
ZEE5's dedicated kids' platform, KidZ, is all set to entertain young viewers with its brand-new animated original series, Shivlok Ke Kundakka Mandakka, premiering on July 17. Inspired by renowned author Anand Neelakantan's popular children's book The Very, Extremely, Most Naughty Asura Tales for Kids, the series promises a fun-filled journey through a unique world of Indian mythology.
The story follows the mischievous Asura twins, Kundakka and Mandakka, whose playful nature leads them into exciting adventures filled with friendship, bravery, humour, and valuable life lessons. Moving beyond the familiar stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the series introduces children to fresh characters, magical worlds, and untold mythological tales.
Packed with colourful animation, action, and comedy, the show presents Indian mythology in a fresh and entertaining way for today's generation. It also delivers a simple message that true heroes are known by their choices, kindness, and courage not by being perfect.

Speaking about the launch, Chandan Khandelwal, Business Head, KidZ at ZEE5, said the platform is focused on bringing India's rich storytelling tradition to children through engaging animation and meaningful entertainment. He added that the series is the first step toward creating original Indian franchises that connect with young audiences across languages.
Author Anand Neelakantan expressed his happiness about seeing his book adapted into an animated series. He said he hopes children will enjoy the adventures of Kundakka and Mandakka on screen just as much as he enjoyed creating the characters.
