  AP Film Corporation Charts Growth Agenda at Inaugural Board Meeting


The newly reconstituted Andhra Pradesh Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation convened its first Board of Directors meeting on Monday in Vijayawada, setting the stage for a broad development strategy aimed at strengthening the state’s entertainment ecosystem.

The meeting, held at Fortune Murali Park Hotel, was presided over by Chairman P. Bharat Bhushan and attended by Managing Director K.S. Viswanathan along with the Corporation’s board members representing various segments of the film, television, and theatre industries.

A major focus of the deliberations was the long-term growth of Andhra Pradesh’s creative sectors. Board members discussed initiatives to enhance industry infrastructure, attract investments, create a more supportive environment for filmmaking and content production, and establish a structured roadmap for the sector’s expansion.

During the session, the Board formally approved the appointment of Chikkala Meher Ramesh Kumar as Vice Chairman of the Corporation. Members also reviewed and ratified resolutions passed during the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) for onward submission to the State Government.

The meeting featured detailed discussions on the future of the prestigious Nandi Awards. Participants examined matters related to previously announced awards and explored potential guidelines, procedures, and recommendations for organizing upcoming editions of the awards program.

Board members reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Andhra Pradesh’s entertainment industry and enhancing support mechanisms for artists, technicians, filmmakers, producers, and theatre practitioners across the state.

The meeting was attended by Mudavath Srinivas Naik, General Manager of the Corporation, along with senior officials and staff members.
