 ‘Kanna’ Teaser Launched in Grand Style

The teaser of the upcoming youthful entertainer Kanna was unveiled at a grand event. The film is being jointly produced by Madhuri Presents, Passionate Filmmakers, and Cinematic Visual Studio, and directed by S.N. Rajashekar Reddy.

The launch event witnessed the presence of several notable guests including actor Chaitanya Rao, along with the film’s lead pair Karthik Sivan and Geethika Rathan, and many actors, technicians, and members of the film fraternity. The teaser was officially released by Chaitanya Rao, and the makers confirmed that the film is slated for release in 2026.

Speaking at the event, actor Venky expressed confidence that although Kanna may be a small film, it will leave a lasting impression on audiences. He thanked director Rajashekar Reddy for the opportunity.

Lead actress Geethika Rathan shared that the teaser does not feel like that of a small film and revealed that she plays a character named Sathya. She expressed confidence that audiences will remember her by that name after watching the film and thanked the director for giving her such a strong role.

Hero Karthik Sivan thanked Chaitanya Rao for attending the event and said he comes from a non-film background, crediting his father as his only support system so far. He expressed hope that Kanna would become his real breakthrough. He added that the film blends cricket, love, and emotional elements, making it relatable to audiences. He also appreciated the producer Niryata Srinu and praised director Rajashekar Reddy for shaping the film beautifully.

Producer Krishna stated that the director made the film with great patience and dedication. He mentioned that despite being a producer, he worked like an assistant due to his passion for cinema and thanked the entire cast and crew.

Director Nani Kasaragadda, who attended as a guest, said the teaser feels like watching a full-fledged trailer and reflects the passion behind the project. He also noted that releasing during the IPL season works in the film’s favor.

Director S.N. Rajashekar Reddy expressed gratitude to Chaitanya Rao for his support and recalled working as an assistant director in his films. He praised his method acting and expressed his desire to collaborate with him in the future. He also thanked Manju Venkat and Nani Kasaragadda for supporting the film.

He highlighted the contributions of cinematographer Gunasekhar, music director Saravana Vasudevan, and editor Kodati Pawan Kalyan, stating that their work adds great value to the film. He described actor Rupesh as a powerful performer who plays an anti-hero rather than a typical villain.

The director also praised Geethika Rathan for her talent and dedication, stating that she has a strong character and a bright future ahead. Speaking about Karthik Sivan, he said that beyond being like a younger brother, he is a hardworking actor who will soon earn recognition from audiences.

He revealed that the film revolves around cricket but is presented in a fun, nostalgic way, reminding viewers of their childhood. He added that the character ‘Kanna’ is someone audiences will find familiar in every village, and assured that the film will entertain as much as the teaser has impressed.

Actor Chaitanya Rao praised the director’s clarity and predicted a promising future for him. He said the teaser gives the feel of a Malayalam film with its strong visuals and background score. He appreciated the editing and remarked that Karthik Sivan shows great potential as an actor, fully embodying the character of Kanna. He also said the film would bring recognition to Geethika Rathan and extended his support for such small films to succeed in the industry.
