WAPCON 2026: Empowering Women Through Ayurveda
The Women Ayurveda Parishad Conference (WAPCON 2026), supported by the Department of AYUSH, marked the first-ever national conference dedicated to women in Ayurveda. The theme, “Swastha Nari – Sashakta Bharath,” highlighted the belief that a healthy woman is the backbone of a strong nation.
The conference focused on the vital role women play as leaders, caregivers, and change-makers, while also addressing the specific health challenges they face. Discussions emphasized how women’s health influences future generations, social balance, and overall national development. By giving priority to women’s well-being, WAPCON 2026 aimed to improve education, boost economic growth, and strengthen communities.
Ayurveda doctors, teachers, students, researchers, and policymakers came together to share ideas on overcoming health challenges faced by women, promoting preventive healthcare, and blending traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern medical practices. The event aimed to support a healthier, fairer, and more empowered India.
Dr. Rama Krishna, Chairman of Fortune Hospitality and Infra, attended the conference as the Guest of Honour and spoke about the growing Ayurvedic beauty industry. He shared that nearly 60% of herbal raw materials from India are exported globally.
Dr. Rama Krishna explained that India’s ancient Ayurvedic knowledge, combined with South Korea’s innovation, Thailand’s eco-friendly production methods, and Asia’s rich plant resourcesalong with modern science, clinical research, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologieswill shape the future of the global beauty industry. He added that investing in natural and herbal beauty products today can create successful businesses while also supporting a healthier society
