A Sankranthi to Remember: ‘Anaganaga Oka Raju’ Turns Festive Release into a Phenomenal Blockbuster
Mounted by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and presented by Srikara Studios, the film marks the directorial debut of Maari, with Meenakshi Chaudhary playing the leading lady. Backed by producers Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, the project released on January 14 as a Sankranthi treat and quickly emerged as one of the season’s biggest winners.
To celebrate the roaring success, the team hosted a grand success meet at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. The evening turned into a joyful gathering of artists, technicians, and distributors who came together to celebrate the film’s journey. Noted producer Dil Raju and director Bobby Kolli graced the event as chief guests, applauding the team’s dedication. Special mementos were presented to contributors who played a role in the film’s triumph.
Dil Raju lauded the team’s sincerity, highlighting that true passion for cinema eventually leads to success. He particularly appreciated the commitment of producer Naga Vamsi and credited Naveen Polishetty’s tireless effort as the backbone of the film. He also praised Meenakshi Chaudhary for continuing her strong run of festive hits.
Director Bobby Kolli spoke about Naveen’s remarkable drive, calling him someone who “doesn’t wait for timing but creates it.” He shared that even after recovering from an accident, Naveen was focused on scripts and big ideas. He also revealed that Megastar Chiranjeevi personally admired Naveen’s performance and infectious energy, calling him a favourite among the younger generation.
Naveen addressed the gathering with gratitude and emotion. Referring to a memorable line from the film about a wedding being remembered for generations, he said this Sankranthi would similarly remain unforgettable for the team. He acknowledged the tough competition during the festive season and credited audiences for standing by the film.
He emphasized his belief in respecting three pillars of cinema producers, distributors/exhibitors, and the paying audience. Rather than rushing into multiple projects, he shared that he prefers investing time in quality storytelling. Reflecting on his journey from digital content to consecutive theatrical successes, he thanked viewers for placing their trust in him despite early doubts about YouTube-origin actors becoming big-screen heroes.
Naveen also spoke emotionally about his middle-class roots and how being inspired by Chiranjeevi and later receiving appreciation from him felt like a dream come true.
Meenakshi Chaudhary called this Sankranthi one of the most special phases in her career and thanked audiences for their love.
Producer Naga Vamsi expressed happiness that distributors earned profits, calling it the real win for any producer.
Director Maari described the Sankranthi release and the ₹100 crore milestone as unforgettable achievements, thanking Naveen for his faith.
Writer and creative director Chinmayi noted that the audience’s response made all their hard work worthwhile.
Lyricist Chandrabose shared that he penned the songs with grandeur in mind, and the film’s success matched that scale.
The celebrations, smoothly hosted by anchor Suma Kanakala, ended on a cheerful note, with several technicians and supporting actors joining in to thank audiences.
