Malavika Mohanan Gears Up for a Big Telugu Debut with Prabhas’ The Raja Saab
Malavika Mohanan is officially entering Telugu cinema with a bang through The Raja Saab, where she stars alongside Prabhas, one of India’s biggest icons. At the ABP Southern Rising Summit 2025 in Chennai, the actress spoke about her excitement and the surprising strength of her role.
While Telugu audiences already know her from dubbed films like Petta, Master, and Thangalaan, this is her first straight Telugu movie. Among her earlier releases, Master performed best in the Telugu market, but fans have always welcomed her warmly.
Malavika revealed that she initially expected a smaller part, as heroines in big-star films usually get limited screen time. But The Raja Saab changed her perception.
“I assumed I would just have a few scenes. But my character is much stronger and more meaningful than I expected. It’s a wonderful debut for me,” she shared.
Releasing for Sankranti 2026 on January 9, the film is one of the season’s most awaited titles.
With a strong character, a star hero, and a festive release, The Raja Saab looks like an ideal Telugu debut for Malavika Mohanan.
