“‘K-Ramp’ is packed with fun, emotion, and entertainment for both youth and families” — Director Jains Nani
Successful actor Kiran Abbavaram is all set to entertain audiences with his upcoming film K-Ramp, directed by Jains Nani. The movie is produced by Rajesh Danda and Shiva Bommakku under the Hasya Movies and Rudransh Celluloid banners, and will hit theatres worldwide on October 18, just in time for the Diwali festival.
In a recent conversation, director Jains Nani opened up about the film’s concept, title, making process, and what audiences can look forward to.
On the title ‘K-Ramp’
“We chose the title because it perfectly suits the story. The hero’s name is Kumar, and his life takes many turns just like a ramp that rises and falls. People might think the title sounds bold, but it actually reflects the character’s journey. We wanted something catchy, memorable, and meaningful. After exploring a few options, ‘K-Ramp’ felt just right,” he explained.
A family film with youthful energy
“Some people assumed the film might be edgy after watching the trailer, but it’s a complete family entertainer,” Jains Nani clarified. “Our goal was to grab the youth’s attention first—that’s the trailer’s tone. Once youngsters love it, they’ll bring their families along. The story is very relatable; parents, especially, will connect deeply with it. The interval block will be a huge surprise for everyone!”
From IIT to Tollywood
Talking about his journey, he said, “I studied at IIT Madras, where I started making short films. The appreciation they received gave me the courage to pursue cinema full-time. I’ve always been passionate about films, and working with Kiran Abbavaram on this project has been an exciting experience. We fine-tuned the script according to his energy and style. Kiran was very involved but never interfered creatively. We completed the entire shoot in just 47 days—every scene was planned and executed perfectly.”
Casting and performances
“For the heroine, we picked Yukti, who went through workshops and rehearsals before the shoot. She fit the role beautifully,” the director said. “Both Kiran and Yukti have strong character arcs, with Kiran’s journey dominating the first half and Yukti taking the spotlight in the second. Their chemistry and performances will be a treat to watch.”
A fresh Kerala backdrop
“To give the story a unique flavor, we set part of the film in Kerala,” Jains Nani revealed. “The change in location adds freshness, humor, and rich visual appeal. We’ve used the local culture, language, and music styles to elevate the experience. Most of the film was shot in a picturesque college campus in Kerala, and we’ve captured its beauty across several scenic locations.”
Music and entertainment
“Our film has just three songs placed neatly without disturbing the narrative. The background score is a standout element, adding life and rhythm to every scene. Though Diwali will see multiple releases, the positive response to our teaser and trailer gives us confidence. We’re inviting audiences to enjoy a complete entertainer that blends comedy, emotion, and fun. We’re relaxed about the outcome because we’ve watched the final cut several times and truly believe in what we’ve made,” he said with a smile.
The film also features Kamalini Jethmalani in a guest appearance, alongside Naresh, adding a dose of laughter. “I personally love high-energy, fun-driven movies. After K-Ramp, I’ll be announcing some exciting new projects,” the director concluded.
