In a conversation about their upcoming film, Little Hearts, producers Aditya Hasan and Sai Krishna shed light on the film's theme, theatrical release, and their hopes for its reception. Set for a theatrical release on September 5, the film stars Mauli Tanuj and Shivani Nagaram and is directed by Sai Marthand under the ETV Win Originals banner.
The Allure of a Relatable Story
Aditya Hasan expressed his immediate connection to Little Hearts, describing it as a story that mirrors real-life experiences rather than aspirations. "While watching, the audience will recall their own lives and smile, saying 'this is exactly how it happened with me,'" he shared. Hasan emphasized the film's purpose is to offer a lighthearted escape, not a heavy, message-driven plot. He sees it as a "fun teenage love story" that captures the immaturity of young love in an entertaining way.
He believes the film's naturalistic dialogue and songs will resonate with audiences, much like his previous project, 90s Middle Class Biopic, which found a strong connection with viewers both in India and abroad. Hasan added that while comparisons to the earlier film are likely, he's confident it will only help boost Little Hearts' theatrical opening.
A Strategic Theatrical Release
Sai Krishna echoed this sentiment, noting that the success of 90s Middle Class Biopic proved that audiences will embrace well-made, relatable family entertainers. He highlighted their confidence in a theatrical release, especially in the post-COVID era, where quality content has shown strong box office performance.
The film's plot, which revolves around an "illiterate boy and girl" and their "humorous, heartwarming situations," is what the producers believe will draw audiences. Backed by Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati, Little Hearts will be released in nearly 200 theaters. As a special promotion, the producers are arranging free shows for intermediate students on September 3, followed by paid premieres on September 4.
With a focus on creating authentic stories, both producers are optimistic that Little Hearts will connect deeply with moviegoers, reminding them of their own cherished memories.
